Her great grandfather is legendary jazz club owner Jack Groves of the world renown & historic 18th & Vine jazz district in kansas city, mo. many of americas jazz greats played at her grandfathers club, including count basie and charlie parker. Her grandmother is Lillian Madge Groves-Morris, renown minister to many within los angeles & southern california to the stars of hollywood... from the likes of world renown musician little richard to Hollywood actor rod perry of s.w.a.t. fame, her grandmother has ministered to them all. she is also the great niece of the legendary & historic Junius G. Groves, the first african american millionaire west of the Mississippi and a major figure in american history, crowned "the potato king" by the U.S. Dept of Agriculture, under president theodore roosevelt's administration, for his record setting achievements in agriculture. washington devoted an entire chapter in his book, the negro in business to her great uncle as well. junius g. groves was one of the wealthiest men in america at the turn of the century and established the first golf course open to african americans in u.s. he produced so much agriculturally, union pacific railroad built him his own railroad spur, leading to one of three mansions he owned, because of the great amount of agriculture he produced. angela is also cousin of legendary original tuskegee airman lieutenant colonel Weldon K. Groves, one of america's first african american pilots who's heroics inspired the creator of star wars, george lucas, to produce the critically acclaimed major motion picture red tails, which has been nominated for everything from teen choice awards to b.e.t. awards, and picked up an naacp image award for outstanding motion picture at the 44th annual awards ceremony, beating out major motion pictures including flight, starring oscar winner denzel washington, and academy award favorites django unchained starring Oscar winner jamie fox and beasts of the southern wild, which had major wins at both cannes and Sundance film festivals. george lucas received the prestigious vanguard award for producing red tails. she is also the niece of legendary democratic senator Mary Groves-Bland, cousin of congressman Craig C.
