MY DAUGHTER'S ROOMMATES TURNED HER LIFE INTO HELL — I STEPPED IN TO BRING THEM BACK TO EARTH.
I had decided to rent my late mom's home when my daughter, Abby, asked if it could be leased to her and her four friends.
Prior to moving in, she and her friends, Dani and Ella, bought toilet paper, towels, dish detergent, and laundry detergent. The girls brought most of the stuff they needed, like a small dining table, dishes, and glasses. I gave them a couch, silverware, cookware, and food storage containers.
The other two roommates brought nothing but their boyfriends. That's when they started acting like they OWNED the place. Once, Abby called me in despair:
"Mom...Their boyfriends stop the clothes washer mid-wash, take our clothes out, dump them on the floor, and start their own laundry. They eat our food and leave dirty dishes. They use up all the hot water. And they stopped contributing to the shared supply fund and doing chores."
