Conservation photography in America began in the early 20th century with photographers like and , who used their powerful images of natural landscapes to raise public awareness and advocate for the protection of wilderness areas, contributing significantly to the establishment of national parks and conservation policies.

So it was a huge honour to learn on 10th November 2016 that one of my photographs had been forwarded to Barack Obama, in an effort to advocate for the restoration of Hetch Hetchy in California.

Today I’m connecting the dots and looking back as I realised it’s nine years since I graduated from with a degree in Photography and Digital Imaging.

Balancing being a ‘mature’ student with my role as a Creative and the joy of being a parent to my first daughter, definitely taught me resilience and adaptability.

There is huge value in continuous learning. It doesn’t stop on graduation day! As a I am constantly looking to grow my skillset.

My former CEO, Steve Jobs famously said in 2005, “stay hungry, stay foolish” and “connect the dots looking back.”

Good advice.
