Just a reminder we will be starting our Dhul Hijjah program today insha Allah. The aim will be to start promptly on time at 9pm and finish before Maghrib at 9:30pm. We will start with some Qur'an recitation with the beautiful Ustadha Maryam Al-Madani and some adhkar that are encouraged during these 10 days. Then a short reminder to keep your hearts connected and an addition to your other worship.

The aim of this program is to also provide a culture in our communities to recognise the sacredness and opportunities of the outpouring mercy of Allah (swt) all around us.

Barakah Madrassa would like to present a Dhul Hijjah special.

These ladies only zoom sessions will be from this Monday 10th June to Friday 14th June. These will be from 9pm to 9.30pm

The purpose of these sessions will be to:

1. Connect with the best days of the Islamic year
2. Learn the virtues and significance of the days leading up to Eid al Adha
3. Learn from stories of strong imaan, resilience and strength

On Monday we had a our Barakah Book Club and usually I'm at home, and can get my three year old to sleep before our class. Monday, however, was another story! Idris refused to sleep, and eventually I changed perspective, did some hamd and we did the class together. At one point, I am certain he sat on my head whilst I gave a reminder about making Allah (swt) a priority!

I call it mum life, a moment in time when we pause for a short time to give some ourselves to our children.

This is the reason I appreciate female teachers SO MUCH and one of the reasons I am grateful and looking forward to tomorrow.

Our guestlist for our program tomorrow. I hope it will be an opportunity to also pray for the oppressed and helpless in the world.

We are running two Book Clubs at Barakah Madrasa:

Monday on Zoom online at 9:30pm to 10:30pm.

Thursdays at Al-Huda Academy at 10am to 11am.
This is open to all and we have a Qur'an circle from 9:00am to 10:00am.

We also have:

Wednesday: Tilawah (recitation of the Qur'an circle at Al-Huda Academy at 10:30am to 11:30am and we will be reciting the Qur'an together. You can listen in if you prefer.

Friday: Beginners Qur'an class online on Zoom from 11am to 12pm. The link of this will be shared shortly.

Our Ramadan classes will either be led by myself and/or Ustadha Eman.

In the Qur’an, Surah (chapter 19) is called Surah Maryam, named after the mother of Prophet Isa (alayhi-salam). Sayyida Maryam (alayha-salam) was a symbol of servitude, youthful worship, modesty and a beacon of perseverance.

In our upcoming session we will be discussing the story of Prophet Isa, his favours, his miracles and facts about his life. This is aimed at 8 to 12 year olds.

We are also still taking registrations for our online session for The Miraculous Life of Prophet Isa/Jesus on the 31st December at 5 - 6pm GMT.
