While they all developed their very own sound aesthetics they discovered that they share the same passion for sound design and sophisticated electronic music. The imprint is called 3RD (Spoken: Third) and they are ad.lib, Patrick Krieger and S-Tek. The concept behind 3RD is to release vinyl EP’s with a main focus on each artists individual and original music. Every EP will contain one original tra

ck by each of them and an additional remix of an artist they invite. As a part of the labels concept there will be a series of photographic artwork based on pictures of their cities.

3RD 01 starts with ad.lib and his driving and stripped down track "Yamato" - a reduced arrangement of repeating patterns and evolving layers of sounds. A spot on statement of what techno means to him. Myk Derill is the first remixer to join 3RD. His excellent remix on Yamato keeps the monotonous spirit of the original while he adds some wild filter sweeps and shifts the sound aesthetic to what you expect for a real peak time dancefloor track. A raw and percussive bass track with an organic and catchy groove - nothing more to be said. S-Tek (the old school synth loving boy in this winning team) completes the EP with "Tiberium Infection". A classic and effective Berlin/Detroit rooted track. Heavy basses and a never ending evolving hook. It’s all about passion for uncompromising straight forward electronic music.
