Key Jay Compound Comix (KJC Comix) is an independent comic book and graphic novel production and publishing group founded by writer Jamaal Ephriam on November 11th 2011. It is a collection of different artists from around the globe, coming together to bring you some of the best action based productions the indie market has to offer. Meet the Team:
Jamaal Ephriam
Jamaal Ephriam is the founder of
Key Jay Compound, and KJC Comix serving as writer for the majority of productions. He is the current writer of the DRIFT monthly publication, and for the upcoming FLUR: Blades of the Universe graphic novel. In addition to the previous duties, he also serves as Webmaster for both websites (Key Jay Compound, and KJC Comix), serves as the producer, engineer, voiceactor, musician, and composer for the FLUR Internet Radio Plays (serving as artist Key Jay), and frequents video postproduction and promotional avenues to assist in marketing. At times, he’ll also be found storyboarding the various productions, and coming up with apparel and goods ideas for the store. Jamaal is also an avid gamer and animation enthusiast adapting a love for a plethora of different genres and styles saying, “You simply can’t beat the classics!”
Carlos Herrera
The Chilean native illustrator Carlos Herrera, serves as the lead illustrator for the FLUR: Blades of the Universe graphic novels serving as concept artist, complete cover designer (pencils, ink, and painting), and covers all pencil line work with the book. Carlos has been illustrating for many years and specializes in manga, horror, Sci-fi, and simply adores drawing dragons! When he’s not drawing comics, he becomes a father to a loving baby girl and beautiful wife. He enjoys video games, collectables, and coffee! Ryuuen Tanaka
Ryuuen Tanaka serves as an illustrator for FLUR: Blades of the Universe graphic novel responsible for inking Carlos’s line work, as well as providing tone work for the majority of the pages inside the book. When the Philippine born illustrator is not working on FLUR, he continues progressing his craft, as well as creating line arts and illustrations of his original characters as well as comics, stories, sculptures and other projects. Ryuuen also enjoys video games when he’s away from his art pallet. Kathan Chai
Kathan Chai is the lead illustrator for DRIFT, a monthly strip comic that frequently premiers on the KJC Comix website’s front page. Living in Thailand, Kathan has been featured in many graphic novel contests. He specializes in the manga style. When Kathan is away from his tablet, he enjoys watching anime, reading other manga’s, playing sports, and playing Guitar.
