Each spring, the SPR presents TCD students with an exceptional opportunity to have original work published in a highly respected academic journal. Apply for the Executive of Issue ###III of the SPR. Want to get involved with Trinity's Student led Social Science Journal? Then send a 1 page application to [email protected] by 23.59 on the 2nd of June. Please include your name, course, motivation, experience, and the position(s) you are applying for in your application. Editor-in-chief. Responsible for the overall running of the journal. Your main responsibilities will be the selection of junior, senior, and copy editors, as well as the final articles for publication. Financial Officer. Manages the finances of the Journal. Your main responsibilities will be securing funding from college bodies, looking after the bank account, and potentially securing external sponsorship. Design Editor. Responsible for the SPR's public outreach and visual identity. Your main responsibilities will be running the SPR's social media, designing the cover and layout of the review, and printing the physical editions at the end of the year. General Manager. Organises the SPR's launch night at the end of the year. Your main responsibilities will be securing a venue and relevant speakers, and ensuring the event runs smoothly.

Submissions for the next issue of the Social and Political Review are now open! We're looking for papers exploring sociological and political themes between 1500-6000 words. You must be a current student at Trinity College to submit (undergraduate or postgraduate).

Please ensure there is no identifying information in your piece as the editing process is anonymous.

This is an excellent chance to get your writing into a peer-reviewed publication so make sure to get your submissions in before 11:59 pm on the 24th of February.

To kick off the new Volume, applications are now open for the Executive Board of the Social and Political Review, Volume ###II! This includes the positions of Editor-in-Chief, General Manager, and Financial Officer. We are also opening applications for Design Editor.

To apply, please send a cover letter (no more than 1 page long) outlining the position you are applying for, year and course of study for the 2021/22 academic year, your interest in the SPR, and your suitable skills/experience. You can apply for more than one role. The deadline for applications is midnight, Sunday, 2nd of May (11.59 pm). Please email all applications to the current Editor-in-Chief, Nathan at [email protected]
Duties for each position are outlined below:

**Editor-in-Chief:** Responsible for overseeing the editing and administrative aspects of the Journal. The Editor-in-Chief coordinates the activities of the editorial board and chooses the final articles for publication. They also liaise with the Political Science and Sociology Departments and assist in organising SPR events and sponsorship.

**General Manager:** Responsible for organising different events throughout the year, including the Journal’s launch. The General Manager also arranges the printing of the Journal and coordinates with various college bodies.

**Financial Officer:** Responsible for maintaining the accounts, paying invoices, and seeking sponsorship and grants.

**Design Editor:** Responsible for designing the journal, upkeep of the website, and all promotional materials. In your cover letter please demonstrate your proficiency in inDesign and photoshop.

The positions for the Editorial Board (Senior, Junior, and Copy Editors) will be hired in Michaelmas term.
