Acorn Review The Acorn Review is a student-based literary magazine for Grossmont Community College. SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN! Poetry - maximum length 60 lines.

We invite any current or former students of Grossmont or Cuyamaca Colleges to submit manuscripts (MSS), artwork or photography for consideration by the student editorial staff of the ACORN REVIEW. All work is submitted and judged anonymously, but, if accepted, the writer's or artist's byline will appear in the magazine. The Acorn Review literary journal is a publication of Grossmont College in El Cajon, CA. All residents of San Diego County are invited to submit work to Acorn Review. In particular, the journal welcomes submissions from the Grossmont College Community including current and former students and staff of Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges. All manuscripts, artwork, and photography for consideration will be judged by the student editorial staff. If you are interested in submitting a short story, play, work of creative nonfiction, novel excerpt, poem, artwork, or photography, here is how you go about it:

Short stories, plays, works of creative nonfiction, novel excerpts - maximum word length 4,000 words. Up to three pieces in each genre of this category may be submitted by any one person per semester. Up to ten poems can be submitted by any one person per semester. Artwork and photography - original black and white line drawings, charcoal drawings, photography. and digital media accepted. Up to 15 submissions allowed by any one person per semester. Artwork will be printed in black and white unless chosen for front or back covers. All manuscripts except for poetry must be typed, double-spaced, with pages numbered. Poetry should be typed single-spaced and left justified unless doing otherwise serves an artistic purpose. Use 12-point type size in Times New Roman or Arial only. Include the word count except on poetry submissions. Do not include your name on your manuscript, but do include the title of your work.
