*YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT*

_*Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the… Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father…Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied (1 Peter 1:1-2)*_

Something very remarkable in all of Paul’s epistles is his consciousness of the grace and peace of God. At the beginning of each of the epistles he wrote to the churches, you’d find expressions such as the one inRomans 1:7: _*“...Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.”*_

You also find the same with Peter and even John; they understood the importance and power of grace and peace in the lives of God’s people. But then Peter takes a step further to show us something quite striking about this. At the beginning of his first epistle, as read in our theme scripture,he said, _*“...Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.”*_

But at the beginning of his second epistle, he pinpoints how this grace and peace can be multiplied in your life: it’s through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord: 2 Peter 1:2: _*“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.”*_

Multiplied grace in your life means increased capacity, speed, and accuracy to perform. It means more favours and greater excellence in your life with prosperity, dominion and power over adversity. Hallelujah!

But for these to happen, you have to have the knowledge of God; knowledge here is “epignosis” (Greek), which is correct and precise knowledge: a knowledge that relates with that which is known.

It’s up to you how much prosperity with peace you want to enjoy. It’s not going to happen by you praying, “Oh God, multiply your grace and peace in my life; no! He’s already shown you what to do: get to know God more intimately. Study and meditate on His Word. Be deliberate about this. Hallelujah!

*PRAYER*
_*Dear Father, I thank you for the abundance of grace and peace that you have made available to me through the knowledge of your Word. My knowledge of you deepens as I meditate on your Word, thus causing your grace and peace to be multiplied in my life, leading to increased capacity, dominion and prosperity, in Jesus' Name. Amen.*_

INCREASING IN THE “EPIGNOSIS” OF HIM

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10).

What we just read is the Spirit’s prayer for the Church through the Apostle Paul. God wants you to be fruitful in every good work while simultaneously increasing in the knowledge of God. How important this is! What's intriguing about Paul's choice of words here is his use of “Epignosis” (Greek) for knowledge.

That term wasn't commonly used in everyday conversations in Bible days. Interestingly, it was also used by Peter only in his second epistle, possibly influenced by Paul's message. “Epignosis” refers to precise, correct knowledge. The power of “Epignosis” lies in its ability to relate with that which is known; it’s knowledge with intimacy.

Paul introduced this kind of knowledge which the Jews generally weren’t acquainted with; they focused on memorising the Law, reading, internalizing and repeating it. But God wanted more; He didn’t want them to have just mere head knowledge of Him but the “epignosis” of Him.

No wonder He said, "…this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me…" (Isaiah 29:13). The Lord Jesus reiterated the same words in Matthew 15:8, “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.”

For them in the Old Testament, there was no real relationship even though they could recite every detail or aspect of the Law. Therefore, Paul introduced this higher form of knowledge, a knowledge that includes fellowship with that which is known.

“Epignosis” surpasses mere observation; it involves a profound spiritual connection. So, when you engage with the Scriptures, it's not merely about routine learning; it's about deepening your relationship and interaction with the Lord and His divine truths. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

I’m filled with the precise and exact knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. I walk worthy of Him, pleasing Him in every way, being fruitful in every good work even as my “epignosis” of Him increases, and I experience the power thereof, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

MAINTAIN A GRATEFUL HEART
(There’s So Much To Be Grateful For)

TO THE BIBLE
Ephesians 5:20
“Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”

LET’S TALK
In your life, you must learn to give thanks to the Lord and be genuinely grateful to Him for all He’s done in your life. A grateful heart is very important to the Lord. Some people hardly appreciate or recognize when they’re making progress or when God is doing something beautiful in their lives. It’s because they’re negatively programmed. They’ll rather wear a worried look, troubled all the time, only seeing their inabilities and what they don’t have.

Take stock of your life from the beginning of the year 2024 till now, for example, and you’d discover how much progress you’ve made. I’m sure you’ve learnt some new things; your knowledge and understanding of God’s Word improved. Perhaps you used to always arrive late to school or for meetings; but at the beginning of the year, you decided to work on it. Now, you’re always punctual; these are blessings the Lord has made possible for you that you should be grateful for. Never think that such blessings are insignificant.

Perhaps your prayer life has become richer; you pray better than you used to; that’s a huge blessing. Always consider these and other improvements the Spirit of God has brought into your life; centre your mind on them and be grateful. Be thrilled by such blessings as the ministry and work of the Holy Spirit in your life! That’s greater than any material blessing you could ever get. In fact, it’s what will give rise to all other kinds of material blessings and promotions.

Therefore, learn to be content and grateful for all things, serving the Lord joyfully, irrespective and independent of circumstances. Praise God!

GO DEEPER
Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

PRAY
Dear Father, you’re great, gracious and glorious; you’re loving, holy, just and true. Thank you for your blessings in my life: the divine favours that you cause me to experience always. I’m grateful, Lord, for your faithfulness towards me! You’ve given me all that pertains to life and godliness; thank you for making my life the effulgence of your glory and righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
