An economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, especially as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth. As Americans, we stand for individual freedom AND responsibility. Capitalism fuels the engine that is the American economy, allowing i
ndividuals to reach or even at times exceed their potential in life. The beauty of capitalism is that it takes hard work. Ones success is dependent upon the level of commitment they are willing to put forth. America is at a crossroads...Big government politicians across the nation desire to enact complete and utter socialism as the basic American economic system. They desire a "cradle to grave" government that not only controls the amount of wealth one can retain, but where that money is redistributed after it is taken from its rightful owner. We must do all we can to prevent such an atrocity from happening, for when it does, we the individual lose our freedoms and are reduced to nothing more than slaves to the state. "Our properties within our own territories should not be taxed or regulated by any power on earth but our own."
-Thomas Jefferson
"To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, “the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, & the fruits acquired by it.'”
-Thomas Jefferson
