Answers for the sound reel.

1. Dune (2021)
2. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
3. Forbidden Planet (1956)
4. Black Friday (1940)
5. Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)
6. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
7. 12 Monkeys (1995)
8. Back to the Future (1985)

Number 8 was the easy. I think number 4 was probably the toughest. I hadn't heard of Black Friday a few months ago. It stars Boris Karloff. An English actor who played Frankenstein in the 1931 film. (I am currently researching that film and Frankenstein for a podcast episode.)

But I just love the the trailer and poster for Black Friday:

In episode 1 of Every Single Sci-Fi Film Ever* Lisa Yaszek and Glyn Morgan help me understand "What is Science Fiction?".

They go through a lot of history and mention many sci-fi stories.

How many can you name from here?

The podcast launches on March the 31st 2024. Here's the trailer!

Every single sci-fi film ever. Almost.

Award-winning podcast producer and sci-fi film enthusiast Ayesha Khan volunteers for the task. Her continuing mission: to explore strange old films, seek out the experts, and to boldly bring them to you.

We will begin our journey with an episode dedicated to finding out what science fiction actually is with two top notch science fiction scholars.

Then we move to Paris, 1902, to watch and discuss the first sci-fi film ever: Le Voyage Dans La Lune.

Occasionally we will take some detours to hear some fascinating people discuss their favourite sci-fi film. Episode three features Stanford neuroscientist, best-selling author, and the host of the Inner Cosmos podcast David Eagleman. He tells us why The Creator (2023) made it straight to the top of his list.

Join me in watching a film and then hearing some clever, heavily decorated connoisseurs release knowledge torpedos. For us! For posterity!
