Over the 26 years I've been publishing a magazine (Women On Top & Beverly Hills Times) I've been blessed to be surrounded by incredibly smart and witty women and men who rise above the "norm" to tell it like it is in a way that promotes inner strength, determination and a mindset to overcome challenge and fear. Translation: Instead, of running from what intimidates or frightens us.... we stand strong in the belief that we can and we will take care of ourselves. Sometimes that might feel like an insurmountable hill to climb... but the more we stand up for ourselves... the less others can push us around. Bottomline: If we don't own our power... we will never get what we want in life.

It's HOT outside and I'm not just talkin' weather. The vibe is boiling over with people raging over the political storm consuming our lives. How about we keep in mind that beating each other up verbally and physically while building walls between us doesn't get us what we want. What might help change what we believe isn't working is to get off the couch and VOTE for who/what we want.

Anti-Brain Farts Tips
• Knowing what we shouldn’t do from past mistakes gives us the guts we need to be leaders rather than followers.
• We can’t go after what we want, need and deserve if we aren’t in the driver’s seat calling the shots.
• We stop making decisions based on the advice of people who don’t have to deal with the consequences when "crapola" hits the fan.
• We eliminate "brain farts" by being fearless advocates for our own best interests.
• We acknowledge that life "sucks" for people who don’t protect themselves by following their inborn gut instincts for survival.

Thought for the day: If our memories are blurred with the bad choices we’ve made then we need to up our game and change our strategy. Regret is only good to show us what 'not’ to do again. Only after we acknowledge the truth behind a bad decision and we take responsibility for our part in it can we move forward with a new plan of action. We must come to a place where we gain strength and conviction knowing that we can and we will take care of ourselves. Each of us carries the strength, knowledge and determination to have a life we are proud of.
