* Paper towel roll
* Silver/Gold paint (or duct tape)
* Tissue paper (red, orange, yellow)
* Battery-operated tealight

Lemonade Stand secret recipe - it was definitely Lemonade! It made it easy to refill the dispenser, we just added some fresh slices of lemon, ice cubes and the customers LOVED it.

Olympic Snack Ideas:

🏅Oreo Olympic Gold Medals:
* Golden Oreos
* Fruit-by-the-Foot

Instructions:
Open the Golden Oreo and place the ends of a Fruit-by-the-Foot inside. Close the Oreo, leaving the Fruit-by-the-Foot hanging out to resemble a medal ribbon. (Idea by )

🔥Olympic Torch Treats:
* Ice cream cones
* Cheetos

Instructions:
Fill the ice cream cone with Cheetos to resemble a fiery torch. (Idea by )

Free Summer Reading coloring page- encourage reading this summer and color in a book every time your child finishes a book! Part of our summer plans include 20 mins of reading each day prior to any devices. I had one kiddo claim they hate reading and this was “the worst” but guess what I find that kiddo doing a lot more now *by choice* reading! Sometimes we just gotta get started and we remember how much we enjoy it. This goes for you too momma- grab a book 📕 and read at the pool, when your kids have their quiet time or before bed. If you need any recommendations I have a list of books I have really enjoyed reading this year and would be happy to send you the list!

Sweet Summertime ☀️⛱️

We have 1 more week left of school and then these kiddos are off for the summer! We plan our homeschool year to go from Sept 1 through May 31 to give us 3 FULL months off. We usually travel to the beach a few times and take a family trip but this year we don’t have much planned outside of pool days with cousins. We joined a new community pool for the summer and we are so excited to make new friends and I am making it my goal to get in the pool with the kids more often! One of my favorite parts about the new pool is the Icee Hut that is on the way home- it is the same Icee Hut I went to as a kid 29 years ago and Tigers Blood is still my favorite flavor!

I am making an effort to make sure the summer doesn’t slip away by spending more intentional time with the kids, playing board games, hiking to some of the beautiful waterfalls we have and exploring more of our wonderful little town. named Greenville the #4 best places to live recently and we couldn’t agree more! Our downtown is clean and friendly and full of fun- if you are planning a trip down south you HAVE to stop in and just experience it!

Happy Mother’s Day 💞

I am spending the day home with a sick kiddo - not the most glamorous way to spend the day but it is in these moments that our kids get to experience us serving them in a way they can understand. The meals we make, the laundry we fold- those don’t get noticed - but my 7yr old repeatedly thanked me for helping her and felt comfort just having me near her while sick. I will be thankful when she is feeling better but I am thankful to be a mom even on the hard days.

These three were in a play with our co-op this year and had the best time. I had read Charlotte’s Web to the kids last year aloud (there is just something so grounding when taking the time daily to read to your kids even when they are able to read to themselves) - so when the play opened up my kiddos were all excited to be a part of this - best part it counts as school so we made their “school” work less on Thursdays and took in all the lessons to be had when acting in a play. The lessons and skills learned were far better than any speech class! If you are a homeschooling parent I encourage you to seek out opportunities like this for your child and watch them blossom and grow!

We are over here working on our own gardens this year- my oldest is growing dill, cucumbers and hot peppers 🌶️- my middle chose daisies and my youngest has some carrots 🥕 and wildflowers 🌼 They picked their own seed packets and planted them according to the package directions (such a great learning opportunity) and they tend to their plants daily. My oldest has grown a LOVE for growing his own garden and knows in which order his little shoots have sprung up. 🌱

If you are looking for a fun way to incorporate gardening into your little ones learning grab our In the Garden with Peter Rabbit packet. Have your child choose which plants they want to plant and cut and paste them into their garden template.
