What are you doing to celebrate New Years with your kiddos? We let ours stay up and watch the ball drop and toast sparkling apple cider- last year it was so fun to hear their resolutions- Becks was to have a corn dog in 2024 🤣 - setting the bar high! He finally had one mid summer and loved it!

How we have felt living without power & internet for 7 days. We were in one the harder hit areas - it looked like a war zone and still does in some places, but nothing like the destruction just 45 mins north of us in the mountains of North Carolina. Grateful to still have our home, health and community but devastated and praying for those who have lost so much. One of the greatest things we have seen come out of this is the support of our neighbors and friends- people who we may never talk to but once a year dropping items off at our door for our kids. The creativity that has come out of my kids this week has been so fun to watch and playing endless hours of games with them because the chores can and will have to wait. 🧡

What a huge responsibility we have as parents and educators, to teach our young ones words that can uplift, encourage, and inspire. Charlotte’s Web is such a great story of how words that may not mean much to us can change someone else’s life. Be kind. Use your words for good.

As a funny story, when I was a first time mom I didn’t want my kiddo saying “no” to me so I never said no- I would say “uh oh” or “let’s not do that” … eventually with kid number 2 and then 3 I tossed that idea out the window 🤣 but hey- I tried!
