A picture from Ditz Hamrick of The Beef People Mk I
l-R Fitz Hamrick bass/voc, Russ Morin (RIP0 Vocals, Keys (Vox Jaguar organ is to the left) Me on Guitar behind Russ (you can see my Vox Spitfire guitar and Cambridge solid-state amp on the floor}, Jim "The Crusher" McNeeley behind me on the Drums, and Sven Stenberg on the right playing his Vox Phantom guitar through a Fender Suo=per Reverb (Silverface). We played a lot of cool 60's punk covers and a ton of /Buzzcocks and Mission of Burma. Russ, Fitz and Jim left for The great Popular Mechanics while Sven and I continued The Beef People, adding Ken Norton on Keys and Adrienne Meddock on bass/vocals, then Sven leaving us with a revolving door of drummers including a teenage Rhett Lawrence, A bewildered Kevin Heuer, and the cool as a cucumber Russell Farrow, We had more drummers than Spinal Tap, but those early days were really fun and we did whatever the hell we wanted. We were totally DY but both Russ and Fitz were great musicians, and there's no doubt that Russ was the best frontman in Greenville Do y'all rembe any of this?
