August, a month bathed in the warm glow of Filipino pride, witnessed the culmination of linguistic excellence as the nation celebrated its language and honored its champions. The Filipino Language Commission transformed the opulent halls of Dusit Thani Manila into a sanctuary of words, where the power and beauty of the Filipino language took center stage.

The 2024 Filipino Language Award was more than just a ceremony; it was a proclamation of the language's enduring spirit. This year's theme, "Filipino: A Liberating Language," resonated deeply, underscoring the language's role as a catalyst for unity, education, and empowerment.

Metro Manila is declared under a state of calamity while typhoon Carina continues to hover over a large part of Luzon. A red warning level is set on Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Tarlac as a serious flood-prone area. Despite the warning, there are still some residents on the flooded streets. Either they are trying to flea the area or going out to find some supplies.

A glimpse of what sustainable fashion can be with the young talented student designers of SoFA Design Institute . The students were challenged to use whatever available materials without spending a dime. The 58 students unveiled their designs on 13 July 2024 as a warm welcome to their campus's new location on the 2nd Level of The Proscenium Retail Row at Rockwell, Makati, Metro Manila.
