CNN LIVE Interview with Dr Lotay Tshering, Prime Minister of Bhutan
Last evening on 11 May 2021, 7pm, Bhutan's Prime Minister Dasho Dr Lotay Tshering went on LIVE with CNN International (First Move with Julia Chatterley) to share with the world about Bhutan's COVID-19 journey. Prime Minister shared about the ongoing efforts to battle the pandemic, the nationwide vaccination campaign from March 27 to April and requested for other countries to assist Bhutan with the second doses of vaccines.
Bhutan is one of the highest vaccinated persons in the world
As of 4th April, 466,811 individuals in Bhutan were vaccinated with the first dose of AstraZeneca. This makes Bhutan one of the highest percentage of vaccinated persons by population. The Kingdom has concluded its nationwide vaccination program that was kickstarted on 27th March. To date, Bhutan has vaccinated almost 90% of its eligible population during the past week.
