RACE REBORT:
Petit Lemans - Split 1, 9am AEDT time slot
P7 in class for our LMP2 entry in a strong field. Lockhart and I paired up for a two driver entry in the Saturday Aus time slot.
Always a very busy (and fun) multi class race, we had some minor adventures along the way but kept the car straight through the full 10 hours. We pushed hard but lacked the pace of the podium LMP2 class runners.
225 laps later (and 264 for Lockhart), I’m exhausted!

I’ve been away on holiday for a few weeks and it was nice to arrive home to find a delivery from Majors Series in the mail!
Earning a custom commemorative coin as the prize for the Orbit x DBM Mercury team’s Split 6 win in the Majors 24hr is a really nice touch.

RACE REBORT:
Majors Series - 24hrs of Le Mans - Split 6
LMP2 class victory!
A huge result after a gruelling 24 hours of racing. A tough qually had us starting down the field but a huge effort from Gareth and Danny saw us in the lead by the 8 hour mark when Jack and I took over for the night stints. In a battle on fuel strategy for the lead, we were dealt a blow when Jacks PC suffered a server disconnect. We lost nearly 2 mins getting back up and running but we pushed on from P4. Back in our groove we drove our way back to the lead within a matter of hours. Consistent pace and minimal mistakes from all of us kept us in front the rest of the way with plenty of time for a late splash and dash stop just before the flag.
Big day out for the Drop Bear Motorsport / Orbit Motorsport teams with our other LMP2 car winning Split 4 and our GTP and GT3 entries also getting top 5 finishes. A huge day for the teams and a huge team effort working together and supporting one another.
Absolutely stoked to be part of an endurance event win again after many years of trying.

RACE REBORT:
AOG Fixed Indy Australia
Fast but frustrated. I picked up where I left off for round two of the Aussie Online Gaming Indycar series by qualifying P13 for the second round running. I started well and showed genuine top 10 pace throughout the race.
It’s all well and good running 49 good laps but 50 were required. An unforced error on cold tyres after my first stop cost a big chunk of time (a whole lap) that was only recovered by the wave around at the late race safety car period.
Some carnage ahead at the restart and some opportunistic moves helped me sn**ch a surprising P12 finish but oh, what could have been!
Eyes forward to the next round, where we hopefully convert this pace to a proper result.

8 years on from when I first built my 8020 aluminium rig it is still going strong. Albeit with some major upgrades to the frame elements and hardware! Love 8020 t-slot aluminium for sim rigs as it is super solid and offers great design flexibility.
