Rue can't get her shoes on!
Carrie talks it out with 6-year-old Rue without any screaming or shoe-throwing. Many times, parents have to ask leading questions or present options to their little ones to help resolve problems.

Don't overprogram your kids.
Every time your child says, "I'm bored!" you should be a proud parent.
Why??
Because we discover our own inner world and who we really are when we are in our own heads. This doesn't happen when our children are constantly busy with scheduled activities and entertained by TV, movies, video games, etc.
So, the next time your kiddo tells you they're bored you can say, "That's great to hear! Go into your room and discover who you really are!" You're doing the right right thing and it's perfectly okay if your child doesn't agree. :D

Hearing your kids cry.

2 Assumptions of The Long Term Parenting Method
The Long Game Parenting Method is based on some assumptions about the way the world works.
In this audio clip from The #ParentWhys Podcast, we discuss 2 of those assumptions.
Do you agree with our beliefs? Why or why not?
Rue has hot feet.
Kids can learn to behave better when faced with natural consequences.
When Rue didn't get her shoes on, she had to suffer through walking on hot pavement. Next time mommy asked, she knew to take it seriously and put on them shoes.
Many parents make the mistake of trying to punish their children for not listening. Instead, learn how consequences can build good behavior without the need to pull the do-it-because-I-said-so card.
Share with all the parents out there so they can become parent-wise with #ParentWhys. Listen to Episode 2 on iTunes, Spotify, or parentwhys.com
