Dogs’s day out.
Thought I’d pop in to say hello! Life is full of work but yesterday I got to take the dog for a playdate with his best mates to Lac de St Cassien which is only about a fifteen minutes drive from where we live. Monty is a rescue dog and so are his friends. Maurice, the dog with the loudest bark, was abandoned in the woods and Aslan, a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog, was one of a litter a vet was trying to home. They are now living their best lives (well Monty might not be 😆) and helping us live ours. Dogs are therapy.
Sometimes the paint tube is the right tool for the job.
Using the big chunky watercolour brush that my dad gave me. Then I used the nib of an ink pen to scratch out some trees.
You never grow out of finger painting
Some work in progress videos. I have no idea what the background noise is. I think I might need a new phone as well as new paints! Watercolour.
So, while my friends paddle-board, swim in the sea and lakes, walk in the mountains and eat salad, I’ve been watching Netflix in bed pretty much for two days 😁. But, tonight i went to the lake and watched Monty not fetch his stick.
Dabbing away creating winter foliage with watercolour and gouache. I just have two more illustrations to do for "Fletcher and the Stars". An author and illustrator never usually communicate during the making of a book as everything goes through the publisher. Julia Rawlinson and I have an unusual collaboration in that respect and I think these last four books are better for it. Graffeg trusted us to get on with it and I am thankful for that.
