A survey plan is a document that measures the boundary of a parcel of land to give an accurate measurement and description of that land.

A survey plan that is lodged (registered) at the Surveyor General’s office of the State in which the land is situated is a REGISTERED SURVEY PLAN.

A registered survey contains, Starting Point, Universal Tranverse Mercator (UTM) Zone, Land Area, Beacon Location and Identification Number, Land Boundaries Distance and Coordinates, Landmarks, Surveyor's Name, and Signature, Survey Plan No and Registration of Survey Plan with Government.

The survey plan is used by the government to identify you as the legal owner of the land as the primary document showing land ownership in relation to other documents.
