A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until 10PM ET for the counties in yellow. A semi-line of severe storms has developed and will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts that could lead to downed trees and power lines. Storms will track southward through this evening.

Storms will be developing by 5pm and push southward from North GA into Central GA overnight. Like yesterday, damaging wind gusts up to 60mph will be possible.

Hurricane Warnings are posted for the Valdosta area in southern GA and Tropical Storm Warnings elsewhere in red. The worst of Debby will begin to impact Southern GA by tomorrow afternoon into Tuesday. Main impacts will be wind gusts between 50-70mph and heavy rainfall - with rainfall amounts up to 1 foot expected. Significant flooding will be possible.

Significant flooding is expected in portions of southern and coastal GA ahead of Debby with some areas receiving over a foot of rain. A State of Emergency has been declared for the state of Georgia. Near hurricane force winds and heavy rain is expected by tomorrow and into Tuesday for the areas in red.

At 631 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of

The threat for strong to severe storms have shifted to Central GA for this afternoon. A few severe storms are possible with damaging winds, hail, and an isolated tornado being the main threats. Although this is not tornado warned at the moment, some of these storms near the Macon area have hooks/weak rotation with them. Stay weather aware this Memorial Day!

Heads up, strong to severe storms will be possible by the early morning hours across Northern GA. A line of storms capable of damaging wind gusts of 60mph and a few isolated tornadoes are the primary threats. By Monday, much of Georgia has the possibility of seeing some more strong storms - however this dying line of storms coming Monday morning may decrease the probability for redevelopment of storms by Monday afternoon in Northern GA - best chance for redevelopment may end up in Central/Southern GA tomorrow.

An upgrade to a Level 3 Enhanced Risk has just been issued for portions of far Northern GA. This runs northward of a line from Rome to Calhoun to Dawsonville. This risk is primarily for storms to produce damaging winds - although hail and a few tornadoes remain possible. The storm window opens from late this evening into Thursday morning. Have a way to receive warnings overnight!
