About Us

Friends since childhood, Devon (pictured left) and Steve (pictured right) grew our friendship into a brotherhood through our love of nearly everything one might consider "nerdy". But reading and watching our favourite content wasn't enough for us. We first started playing tabletop games with each other with the Pokemon Trading Card Game. We would spend hours playing game after game, addicted to the game, the strategies, and the camaraderie of friendly competition. Over the years, this love of board and card games grew and grew, resulting in yearly trips to the cottage spent almost entirely indoors sitting at a table, or being forced to leave the local board game cafe as they closed for the night. We couldn't, and can't, get enough.

Now, as the popularity of new and more intricate board games rises into the mainstream, we've realised that there are many people interested in the less traditional board games but may not know where to start. Stepping into the local comic shop can easily overwhelm anyone as most people likely have never heard of 99% of the games sold there. This is where we come in.

Cardboard: The Board Game Podcast is a podcast for you! Whether you're new to board games, have some experience and want more, or consider yourself an expert but are interested in another perspective, we invite you to take a listen! Each episode we talk about a different board game. We talk about the history of that board game, an overview of the rules, some of our own experiences playing the game, and even some of the gameplay variations we have made up ourselves.
