Recovery charities across Yorkshire and the UK gathered for Hull's very first Faces & Voices of Recovery UK Recovery Walk on the weekend.
Thousands of people banded together to celebrate recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, with local and national drug and alcohol organisations such as Renew, Narcotics and Alcohol Anonymous, and SMART taking part.
Annemarie Ward, CEO of FAVORUK, said each step taken is a testament to the bravery of those overcoming addiction.
Artist Call for Art in the Park
The Friends of Rowntree Park are inviting artists to submit their work to be displayed in the park this summer.
The Art in the Park project, now in its third year, is looking for York-based/related artists who’d like to submit work based on the loose theme of ‘Rowntree Park through the seasons’.
Charity Manager Abigail Gaines explained the project will also raise funds to help maintain the green space.
Hull City Council has released the findings of its citywide transport survey that saw over 22,000 residents have their say on the future of Hull's transport.
The survey listed several aspects of Hull’s roads and asked whether people believed each had gotten worse, stayed the same, or gotten better over the past two years.
Cllr Mark Ieronimo, portfolio holder for transport, shared some of the key findings from residents and what they hope to implement in response.
A Hull-based production company have won national awards for a short film that raises awareness of children in care.
My Pockets created the animated film Dream On which described the feelings of a child waking up in care.
The film won a digital transformation in social work award in London and has garnered renewed interest following John Lewis' new Christmas advert centred around fostering.

Hull's Remembrance Sunday 2022 Service
Hull will take part in the 104th anniversary of the 1918 Artimice with a Remembrance Sunday 2022 Service.
Beginning at 10.30am on Sunday 13 November, the service will include a parade, to the city centre Cenotaph, the annual service of remembrance at 10.55am, before observing the national two minute silence at 11am.

Humber 2100+ Strategy
It's Flood Action Week, and the Environment Agency is highlighting the work being done by Humber Strategy's Humber 2100+ partnership, a group of local authorities and organisations that aim to protect the Humber Estuary for the next 100 years.
Over £150m has been invested to protect 70,000 properties in the area.

East Riding's Local Plan Consultation
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is inviting residents to have their say on proposed plans for development that will shape the future of the East Riding for years to come.
The document contains a 2039 vision that aims to provide residents and visitors "with a high quality of life and healthy lifestyles, businesses the ability to thrive and a place where the natural environment can flourish."
Cllr Claire Holmes explained why it's important to hear directly from residents on plans.
Hull Museums has announced a major £3.3m investment from Arts Council England through its National Portfolio Programme to support the work of the Humber Museums Partnership.
The funding will enable museum services in Hull and across the Humber to expand cultural opportunities and create new jobs to keep creative talent in the region.
Hull City Council's Hull Culture and Leisure Lead, Councillor Rob Pritchard, said showcasing the city's heritage and culture will attract visitors.
Local MP on COP27
Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers has said COP27 is an opportunity to outline the UK's green targets as the Humber pursues investment in the renewables sector.
It comes as Rishi Sunak said he will call for a "global mission for clean growth" at the summit.
The Conservative MP explained what benefits investment in green technology can be seen already in the Humber and whether the UK as a whole is doing enough.
Fossil Free East Yorkshire call for total ban on fracking
Fossil Free East Yorkshire has called on the Government to implement an outright ban on fracking in the UK.
It comes as the Government reinstated the moratorium to ban giving out licences to fracking customers, repealing the decision made by Liz Truss to end it.
Richard Howarth of the campaign group said a ban will stop future governments from overturning the moratorium again.

Queen Victoria's Jewel Cabinet comes to Hull
Queen Victoria’s Jewel-Cabinet will visit Hull as part of a new exhibition at the Ferens Art Gallery.
The exhibition will celebrate Queen Victoria’s relationship with Hull, including her spectacular visit in 1854, and it will illustrate what Victorian life was like in Hull.
Exhibition lead Stephanie Edwards explained how the exhibition came to Ferens and what the educational benefits are for Hull residents.
Local MP on new Prime Minister and Home Secretary's return
Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers has welcomed Rishi Sunak as the new Prime Minister and has also said it is up to senior civil servants on whether Suella Braverman can return to Cabinet.
It comes as the Home Secretary admitted to committing a "technical infringement" by sending an official document to someone not authorised to use it.
