HEARTBREAKING: Liverpool Star Diogo Jota Dies in Car Accident
Diogo Jota, Liverpool and Portugal football star, has died.
The 28-year-old lost his life in a terrible car accident in Spain alongside his younger brother, André. The crash happened just after midnight on Thursday in Zamora, Spain. Witnesses said the car went off the road and caught fire.
This tragedy is even more painful because Jota just got married on the 22nd of last month to his partner, Rute Cardoso. He was a newlywed and father of three.
His younger brother, André, 26, also a professional footballer, died in the same crash.
Jota joined Liverpool in 2020 and scored 65 goals in 182 matches. He won the Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield, and Carabao Cup with Liverpool. He also played 49 times for Portugal and recently helped them beat Spain to win the UEFA Nations League.
This is a dark and painful day for football.
Rest in peace, Diogo and André Jota.
