PURGE YOURSELF OF GREED FOR POWER, OMEHIA TELLS WIKE

Former Gov of Rivers State Sir Celestine Omehia has called on the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to reduce his propensity for power and greed and allow Governor Siminalayi Fubara to do his work. This undying inclination for power is tormenting him and serving him unstable moments.

Omehia made this assertion in a statement issued today in Port Harcourt in response to the live television interview which the former Gov of Rivers State and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike hosted in Abuja recently.

In the said interview, Wike described Omehia and other PDP Leaders in Rivers State who declared support for the administration of Gov Sim Fubara and President Bola Tinubu last week as "expired politicians and buccaneers"

He described Wike's uncontrolled outbursts as product of a confused mind, Omehia said that Wike's anger is that his ambition of a 3rd tenure has crsahed and the people of Rivers State have realized that his quest for power is personal and not for the interest of Rivers state or the south south at large as claimed.

"The FCT Minister thought that he would continue to control and abuse the resources and governance of the state but God, through the people resisted the impeachment plot by his members of the Rivers State House of Assembly", Omehia said, noting that Wike is notorious for lying against anyone, anytime and disrespects elders at will, so there is no surprise about his outburst and criticism against innocent personalities in Rivers State.

OUR POSITION ON RIVERS PDP WARD, LGA, STATE EXCOS UNSHAKEN – GOV FUBARA

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has debunked as fake and misleading, the purported list of Caretaker Committee members circulating in the social media and published in some national dailies on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who said this after a meeting with the NWC at the National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza in Abuja, on Thursday evening, restated that the resolutions of a meeting held between the NWC and members of the Board of Trustees (BOTs) and PDP Governors’ Forum in Abuja in March on the issue remain valid.

Governor Fubara reiterated the position of the party that the executive officers whose tenures had expired in March, shall remain in their various capacities until the three months’extension period approved by the NWC elapses, and new congresses conducted to replace them.

He recalled that a letter signed by the National Organising Secretary, Hon Umar M. Bature, dated Wednesday, March 27, 2024, addressed to the Chairman, Rivers State Caretaker Committee, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Aaron Chukwuemeka, and titled: “Approval of Wards, Local Government Area and State Caretaker Committee Members for Rivers State”, had clearly resolved the issue of the authentic members of the Caretaker Committees at the affected levels.
