Ivan IgorVich was laying quiet beneath some bushes. If he laid still enough he hoped the drone would pass him by. Even at a distance of approximately 200m he could see clearly the two Gr***des dangling from the drone. Too many of his friends have been killed in recent months from these drones, either by fragmentation or from directed artillery.

An explosion shattered his thoughts. A loud scream pierced the air and he knew at that moment his buddy and surviving section mate Vlad Monker was hit by a gr***de. He ran knowing the enemy had found their section. a second Gr***de exploded nearby and he immediately could feel intense pain and metal fragments lacerating the left side of his face and body. Warm blood soaked his jacket and the only thought on his mind was calculating the damage he had just received and how long he has left to live.

He fell on the sand. Exhausted. He knew the drones carried only two gr***des. He could see the same drone hovering above him watching him quietly with a hum. His rage and bitterness mixed with frustrations at his weakness took over as he scooped fistful of sand and flung it at the drone while giving it the bird. There was a long silence……

…..before first artillery shells landed, guided by the spotter hovering above….
