The Storm Prediction Center has added a 5% probability zone in the day 2 outlook (Sunday). Supercells will erupt in an arc ahead of a very deep surface low. These storms will initially be high-based with fast-moving nub tornadoes, but will move into improving moisture near evening and likely develop a tornado threat.

3:45 PM Update: We're not seeing anything severe on radar yet but we're also looking at satellite to help judge the strength of the storms. This is an example of one of the satellite products we use in real time called the 'Day Cloud Phase Distinction RGB'. This is just one of the many tools in our toolbelt that we use on a regular basis.

BUCKLE UP FOLKS!!! Tornado Alley is about to wake up even more during late March, with a mega trough ejection forecast around March 26-30. Weeklies supercell parameter forecast for week 2 is paining a bright red blob over the southeastern Plains through lower Dixie Alley. Stay tuned!
