Liberals: "We're not trying to indoctrinate your children..."

Also liberals:

Two Michigan State University undergraduates are suing one of their former professors and two MSU administrators, alleging that they and hundreds of other students were unlawfully required to buy a $99 subscription to a website that supported the professor’s liberal activism.

Bar Stool Economics

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that’s what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. “Since you are all such good customers”, he said, “I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20”. Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free. But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his “fair share?”

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings. “I only got a dollar out of the $20,” declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, “but he got $10!” “Yeah, that’s right,” exclaimed the fifth man. “I only saved a dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more than I!” “That’s true!!” shouted the seventh man. “Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!” “Wait a minute,” yelled the first four men in unison. “We didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!” The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

The good news is that, according to the Biden and Whitmer administrations, the rich will pay for everything. The bad news is that, according to the Biden and Whitmer administrations, you're rich. Proceed accordingly….

Don't fool yourself. The fact he decided to address the nation in Pennsylvania an hour into the Pitt game and at the same time as kickoff as Penn State shows he either doesn't give a damn about PA or his campaign is run by a bunch of buffoons.

"Still, Biden's speech should not be seen in isolation. While he was speaking as America's head of state, his remarks also sounded like a campaign stump speech, delivered in a critically important battleground state that he will have visited three times within the span of a week by Labor Day. He left no doubt that he was targeting his predecessor, and potential future rival, who will also be in Keystone State this weekend."

Even on the day that President Joe Biden delivered his most jarring warning yet that democracy is in severe danger, Donald Trump teased how he might use a new White House term to further erode that core American birthright.

Holy S&^t! Imagine this interview with Charlie LeDuff and Gretchen Whitmer. Read and SHARE! From the article...

"I've asked that the commercial be taken down. It hasn't. I've asked Whitmer to sit for an unrehearsed interview. She won't.

But she should. Think of the great commercials that could come from it. Viral commercials. Huge commercials. The best commercials. The interview, I imagine, might go something like this:

LeDuff: Governor, there is a referendum on the ballot to enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution. You are the figurehead of that campaign.

Whitmer: Yes absolutely. (additional talking points)

LeDuff: I don't think you're honestly telling people what they might be voting for. By my reading of the referendum's language, a 10-year-old Ohio girl could empty her piggy bank, take a Greyhound to Michigan and get an abortion without her parents' knowledge. The abortionist would not have to be a licensed physician, only a “healthcare professional.” That could mean, hypothetically, a massage therapist. If the massage therapist botches the procedure, she can't be held criminally responsible. Is that correct? You actually support that?

Whitmer: (talking points)

Or there is this:

LeDuff: Did your nursing home policies kill old people?

Whitmer: (talking points about science and data).

LeDuff: An independent audit shows the true nursing home death toll is 42% higher than you admit. So again, did your policies kill old people?

Whitmer: (more talking points)

Or:

LeDuff: Governor. You promised to “fix the damn roads.”

Whitmer: (talking points about lane miles and the first electric charging highway)

LeDuff: But much of the money is borrowed. And the work is all being done at once. Did you create a giant traffic jam to create a photo op? Is filling cracks and potholes with tar patch really fixing anything?

Whitmer: (more talking points.)

LeDuff: I'm glad your 45-cents-a-gallon gas tax hike died on the vine. I'd be commuting by dog sled. Aren't you glad it didn't go through?

Once Whitmer is done battling COVID, she really should sit down for that interview. If I'm good enough to be used, then I'm good enough to make news. Just think of the clicks we could get."

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has ducked and dodged my requests for an interview. It got so bad, I had to sue the state of Michigan for nursing home data.
