At the end of a wedding reception, it's always special when fellow vendors come up to me to say how much they LOVED the entertainment. On Saturday night, I worked with a great team from DJ's California Catering at Santa Barbara's Palm Park Beach House. Their staff was thrilled with my coordination, communication, and music. The bartender stated, "I've worked with so many disc jockeys, and trust me when I say... your performance was incredible! How did you do that?" To which I responded, "I always work with amazing clients!" After 20+ years experience, wedding-after-wedding, I've learned that Couples have a lot of choices when hiring their wedding day entertainment, and it is hard to explain value to potential clients. When is the DJ more than just a DJ? Great music... sure! Professionalism, communication, flexibility, responsiveness... yes, all of that is important. However, the bartender summarized it perfectly... it's that FEELING you get when the wedding is absolutely perfect; sync'd vendors, packed dancefloor, thrilled guests, and the newlyweds just had their BEST DAY EVER! I love that feeling EVERY weekend. Oh, and did I mention, ALWAYS work with the best couples!
