"How I Overcame the Feeling of Being Stuck"

There was a time when I felt completely stuck. My passion for helping others had always driven me, but after escaping domestic abuse and facing homelessness, I hit a wall. It felt like everything was against me, and I didn’t know how to move forward.

Thankfully, a charity provided me with safe housing, giving me the chance to start rebuilding my life. This safety reignited my purpose, and I decided I wouldn’t let my circumstances define me. I became determined to advocate for others—especially women and children—who’ve been failed by the system, just like I had been.

In May 2023, I took a significant step and met with Ministers in Parliament to share my story, pushing for changes to ensure future generations receive the support they deserve. This moment reminded me that even when you feel stuck, you have the strength to make a difference.

One of my biggest challenges was a data breach by the NCDV. During my application for a non-molestation order, my address was disclosed to my abuser. This violation pushed me to empower other women to know their rights. I worked with the ICO to highlight the impact of this breach and the importance of data protection for vulnerable individuals.

Since then, I’ve shared my story on GB News and will be featured in the Independent Newspaper to raise awareness for the Brick by Brick campaign. It hasn’t been easy, but every step reminds me that feeling stuck is temporary—you have the power to move forward.
