We are heartbroken to share that our remarkable colleague and friend Neil Gallagher passed away on September 30, 2024. Neil was a pivotal force on our Engineering team and served as one of our EICs for 20 remarkable years. Those years covered countless shows across countless clients, and he mentored countless GCV colleagues along the way. He was humble, confident, genuine, hard-working, and just plain fun…and you could always find him with a cup of Dunkin' Donuts in his hand.

Neil, we hope you know how much we valued you and your unwavering dedication - not only to the work you made your profession, but to your Game Creek family that you showed up for and supported every day. You will be always remembered and forever missed.

This week is National Driver Appreciation Week and we are celebrating all of our drivers - past and present - who work safely, smartly, and energetically to keep our operation in motion! Last year, our team drove over 2.3 million miles through nights, weekends, holidays, state lines, traffic jams, weather craze, and more to ensure our events would be captured for the world to see. To each of our drivers - we appreciate your ongoing commitment to making sure our assets are properly positioned for every show and all of your miles are safe ones. You make us proud every day and we thank you for being part of our family!

Over the past month, we teamed up with HBS to bring the 2024 Copa America tournament to the world! Our travels took us to 11 cities in 28 days to host 24 matches, all captured in 1080P HDR across mobile units GameDay, Celtic, Moonshine, Gridiron, Columbia, Encore, & Varsity. We also installed 2 GCV Anywhere RAPS rooms in Miami to augment the entire production. Although Argentina was crowned champion, we are grateful to the 90+ champions on our team who gave this tournament their all - and to our partner HBS for this tremendous opportunity!

Who loved seeing Monday night's comeback?! Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for delivering a huge performance, winning the 2024 NBA Finals, and passing their forever rivals, the LA Lakers, for the most titles (18!) in NBA history! The applause continues for our knockout team across Varsity A/B, Spirit A/B, Gotham, and the office - your combined effort executed a terrific result and we appreciate you!

We couldn't be prouder of our Engineers, Drivers, and Logistics team for bringing their A-game this past week! This year, we provided Prime A-D, Edit 4, Columbia, Celtic, and Moonshine A & B and this was the second year for a full 2110 compound. In addition, the broadcast was captured in 1080p HDR along with two 4K shows out of Columbia and Celtic. "When I think of the question of who has inspired me, my first thought goes to my parents. I grew up watching two hard working individuals put time and energy into raising me and my siblings. My mother Geneine balanced an overnight working schedule and furthering her education while making sure she was there for us as we went through school and life. With all that on her plate, she persevered and received her Bachelors of Science and Nursing and I could not be more proud of her and inspired by her determination. My father Paul has always been a symbol of work ethic and finding a way, or making one. He has owned multiple businesses and built many relationships with the people of our community. I have watched him for 15 years own and operate Lawn Express, his landscaping business, where he has supported our family by working hard every day. In turn, I work hard to make sure I make them proud and never take my life for granted as the work they have put in over the years has set my siblings and me up for continued success in the future."

"Growing up in Maraval, a small town in the mountainous range of northern Trinidad, my grandmother, Rita Lucio, was the foundation of our large family. After my grandfather passed away in his early 60’s, she became the guiding force for her thirteen children and forty plus grandchildren. She was a kind and loving woman who taught us the true meaning of life - that there is no place for hate and to always be kind and smile! She also taught us the meaning of hard work and to be the best at our craft. She showed us how to build a home surrounded by love.

After her passing in 2017 at the age of 100, her loving kindness still lives within me. I am grateful for all the teachings of my ‘Mama Rita,’ which I now share with my beautiful wife Adah and my adorable son Horatio. Living in a healthy family household is paramount to our wellbeing. From humble beginnings on a tiny Caribbean Island to my personal achievements today, I am proud to be a part of another amazing family here at Game Creek Video."

"Always want more...never settle and never be MADE to settle. Know your worth." These are the words my mother commonly and constantly shared with me growing up. A never-ending source of encouragement and inspiration, I watched my mom work incredibly hard to provide a great life for my sister and I. And while you might be able to feel the moods of your parents as a child, you only start to fully understand them as an adult. Those moments when I thought my mom was tired or frustrated, I would later learn were truly feelings of fear and doubt. Fear that she wasn't providing the life she wanted for her children, and doubt that she ever could. I imagine many single parents feel or have felt this at some point, but as a child, there isn't much you can do to help. However, little did she know that it was through watching her be strong, endearing, and supportive, even when the struggles seemed too much, it was those moments that motivated me to be the same. She inspired me through her actions to never give up, even when others told me that my aspirations were out of reach. She challenged me to not stop at what's easy, but to persevere to what is possible, even if it seemed impossible. The day I graduated with my graduate degree, something that I thought was out of reach and impossible for a kid from the "poor" side of town, it was with pride that I dedicated my accomplishment to my mom. She proved to me that the impossible is possible, but only if you never settle and that you always want for more.

This Black History Month, I am reminded of the MANY that came before us who never gave up. Those who dared to dream and pursue the impossible. Those that paved the way for our success and that we honor with our achievements. And I am reminded that the future is watching, looking to the present for wisdom and hope. Thank you, Mom, for showing me the way then and continuing to be my conscience and north star today.

Although National Truck Driver Appreciation Week occurred last month, we're excited to share this article with you! This piece, written by Overdrive, provides a fascinating synopsis of what it takes to be a trucker in mobile TV production while also highlighting one of our very own. We are grateful to all of our drivers who continue to choose this profession while giving it their all and to our client, ESPN, for providing us with the continued opportunity to participate in College GameDay each week.

Whether it's live sports, shows like ESPN's College Gameday and more, truckers in mobile TV production wear many hats -- driving is a secondary task for these haulers.

Over the past four weeks, Celtic, Columbia, and Gotham teamed up with Concacaf and HBS to bring the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup to the world. We traveled to 11 different cities and some of the world's most prominent venues, including AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and SoFi Stadium in LA for the championship. We are thankful for our dedicated team, who spent countless hours making this happen, and our wonderful partner HBS!

Show up and bring your A game. This is a competitive industry, but you will move up if you work hard and show dedication. Take every opportunity you have to learn, whether it be a new position, piece of gear, or just listening to another perspective. None of it can hurt; it will only make you more well-rounded and versatile. It is a roller coaster as the business has its ups and downs while it ebbs and flows with the economy. The more skills you have, the easier it will be to ride out the humps smoothly. Remember, you have to go after the work; it doesn't just come to you, at least not until you are established. Finally, you will make mistakes, and this is okay. The key is to own them and learn from them.

Don't be afraid to visit a television station and ask for a tour! Meeting people in the field is one of the best ways to get started. Be positive, patient, and calm. It goes a long way, especially when you're learning.

My mom is one of the most influential people in my life. She taught me to be a strong, independent woman who isn’t afraid to speak up. She has taught me to have a tough exterior and a warm heart. Every day, I strive to have her determination, and I hope to leave a lasting impression on the people in my life as she has on me.
