Thousands filled the streets of Midtown Manhattan on Oct. 14 for what’s believed to be NYC’s largest Eucharistic Procession — held annually by the Napa Institute.

Participants from across the country gathered at St. Patrick's Cathedral for an afternoon of prayer, song, and peace. Cardinal Giorgio Marengo and Father Ambrose Criste of the Norbertines of St. Michael's Abbey gave opening talks, followed by Mass celebrated by Cardinal Seán O'Malley. Catholic actors Jonathan Roumie and David Henrie made appearances, and Timothy Cardinal Dolan made closing remarks.

The procession aims to uplift and unite people in a public celebration of faith. 🙏

One of the Columbus Day parade's leaders says he's "happy to work with anyone who’s going to help us preserve the Columbus statues."

In 1956 Ralph Taverniti was an apprentice tailor in his early 20s. His future was bleak as his Italian homeland struggled to rebuild from the carnage of World War II.

Opportunity awaited in Brooklyn, where his father’s uncle offered work. So Taverniti booked third-class passage to New York City on a new luxury ocean liner, the SS Andrea Doria. A new exhibit on the ship is now at the Italian American Museum, where artifacts retrieved by a deep sea diver are on display.
