The Addison Recorder Pop culture dispatches from the Great Lakes. Based in Chicago. The Addison Recorder is a folksy, down-home, whimsy-laden Midwestern reader. And now, here we are.

In fact, it would’ve been called the Chicago Reader, except that someone already took the title. Everything we write would sound best were it to be read aloud by Garrison Keillor. In fact, we almost called it the Great Lakes Home Companion, until a lawyer friend told us that was a horrible idea. In addition, the entirety of that first paragraph is hornswoggle, and most of it is also codswallop. Th

e Addison Recorder is a collection of (four) voices from across the Great Lakes regions, all of whom have since relocated to live near Wrigley Field. When we think about it, we’re not exactly sure why: none of us are Cubs fans, and one of us doesn’t even like baseball. But there we were, four pop culture geeks standing on Addison & Southport, talking about creating an online reader of staggering genius.
