Stoneman, a great fiddler, banjo picker, comedian and more Mike Snider, the revered Nashville guitar picker Jimmy Capps, The Round Mound Of Sound Kenny Price, a big influence in country music as a member of both The Oklahoma Wranglers and The Willis Brothers Vic Willis, The Storyteller Tom T. Hall and the noteable Carl Story. Remember that we'll be into Memorial Day on Monday May 25th 2024. That's the day that we remember the servicemen and women who died defending our country. There was a lot going on at The Cowtown Society Of Western Music the weekend of May 3rd and 4th. I was glad to help with some of the events there and I'm happy to be back at WIOX for Pure County on Saturday May 11, 2024. We'll be hearing from the great guitar picker Joe Maphis, a major part of The Kitty Wells Show Johnnie Wright and Jack Anglin, the country comedian singer LeRoy Pullins, early truck driving song artist Terry Fell, West Coast French Canadian sweetheart Lucille Starr, a popular singer with no pretenses Jenks Carman, western swing performer Ocie Stockard, country singer Penny DeHaven, one of the ladies who appeared with Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys Laura Lee McBride and the legendary Eddy Arnold along with much, much more. Don't forget that Mother's Day will be coming up on Sunday, May 12, 2024. I'll be playing some country style Mother's Day songs. Plenty of rain in Mineral Wells, Texas and there will be for another day or two. It's dry inside where folks are having a fine time listening to some great country and western swing music at the 4th annual Cowtown Society Of Western Music Swing Fest. There was a a great jam session Friday afternoon and evening. Today, May 4, 2024, will feature more music and the Awards Show where a number of folks involved in music will be inducted into the Hall Of Fame.
Because of all that there will be no Pure Country today, May 4th, 2024 and no Radio Truck Stop tomorrow night, May 5, 2024. I hope to be back home and on the air next weekend May 11 and 12. Meanwhile...I'll be heading to Springhill, Louisiana to join HD Ainsworth on The I-20 Minden Morning Show on Monday morning May 6, 2024. You can listen to us at kbef.com from 6-8 AM Central Time.
