“Warrant” and “Firehouse” show on May 11 to continue after the passing of FireHouse’s lead singer, CJ Snare.

FireHouse has released the following statement regarding the 2024 Tour with Warrant:
We're sad to learn of the passing of CJ Snare, the original lead vocalist, and a founding member of the musical group FireHouse. We were looking forward to CJ rejoining the band after recovering from surgery last fall. Unfortunately, due to CJ's untimely passing, that won't be possible. FireHouse will however still be performing with Warrant on Saturday, May 11 at the Municipal Arena in Watertown NY.

Nate Peck, 2023 American Idol Golden Ticket recipient from Season 21, will be handling vocals. With CJ's blessing and full support, Nate has been singing with the band in CJ's absence over the past 6 months.

CJ left an indelible mark on the music industry with his soaring vocals and the FireHouse music he helped craft.

Reach for the Sky CJ! Your memory and your music will live on forever.

The concert is indoors at the Watertown Fairgrounds Arena in Watertown. Tickets are $75 for Pit standing room and $45 for general admission. Doors will open at 5pm, and the show starts at 7pm.

Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online (DPAOconcerts.com), by calling or stopping by the DPAO Concerts office (315-782-0044, 1291 Faichney Dr. Door D), or at all local area Kinney Drugs locations.

About the band Warrant:
At its core, WARRANT is an American rock band through and through. The band first came into the national spotlight with their debut album Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich. This album produced Radio and MTV chart toppers “Down Boys,” “Sometimes She Cries,” and the massive hit “Heaven.” WARRANT’s sophomore album Cherry Pie spawned the MTV & Radio hits “Cherry Pie,” “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” and “I Saw Red.” Their current album, Louder Harder Faster, released on Frontiers Records, has been highly regarded in reviews and embraced by fans.
WARRANT has been headlining festivals, casinos, and fairs nationwide to support their latest CD, Louder Harder Faster, and the 30th anniversary of their debut album, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich. These rockers can’t wait to play not only all the hits their fans know & love, but also new tunes/videos like “Louder Harder Faster” & “I Think I Will Just Stay Here & Drink.”

About the band Firehouse:
FireHouse is estimated to have sold over 7 million albums worldwide since its debut. The band’s commercial success has produced Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum records in the United States and countries abroad.
Their first album, entitled FireHouse, is best known for songs “Shake & Tumble,” “Don’t Treat Me Bad,” and “Love of a Lifetime.” At the 1991 American Music Awards, Firehouse accepted the Best New Hard Rock/Metal Band award, chosen over Nirvana and Alice in Chains. Over their next few albums, the songs “When I Look into Your Eyes,” “I Live My Life for You,” “You Are My Religion,” and “Here for You” are most notable.

Professor Emeritus James Petercsak (Hon. '03) was recently recognized for his many achievements with two awards by partners in the music industry.

Petercsak was first recognized with the establishment of the Yamaha PASIC Scholarship from the Yamaha Corporation of America, presented during a special ceremony at the Percussive Arts Society International Conference held in Indianapolis in November 2023. Now named in Petercsak's honor, this award will assist students to attend the annual percussion conference, including funding for their registration, travel, lodging, meals and a commemorative T-shirt. Petercsak previously served as PASIC president from 1977 to 1981, and remained involved throughout his career at Crane. A Yamaha Performing Artist, Petercsak built relationships between the company and Crane, helping to establish career pathways for students in music business, education and performance.

In addition to the scholarship, Petercsak was honored with the Percussion Marketing Council's PlayDrums.com Lifetime Achievement Award for Drum Education. The honor was presented in January, at the council's open house during the 2024 NAMM Show, the world's largest music industry event, held annually in Anaheim.

For more than five decades, Petercsak, who is affectionately referred to as "JP" by students and colleagues alike, led the percussion area and directed the award-winning Crane Percussion Ensemble, until his retirement last spring, and his students have gone on to enjoy successful careers on multiple continents, becoming educators, in-demand performers, accomplished composers, arrangers, arts administrators, advocates for the arts and executives in the music business industry.

Not one to slow down even in retirement, Petercsak recently made a gift to establish the JP Studio Scholarship to be awarded to Crane percussion students. Since making his gift, several former students have made contributions to his scholarship. To learn more, visit www.potsdam.edu/jpstudio.
