Brooke Tomlinson - Artist..
Brooke is an interdisciplinary illustrator and maker. She is currently in her fourth year at Concordia majoring in Print Media! She is passionate about illustration and is drawn to printed matter for its touch-dependent relationship with viewers and readers. She joined Scribbles because she is excited by the opportunity to be part of a team that publishes student’s creative work and is eager to illustrate texts from writers at Concordia.
Brooke believes that books, magazines and zines are some of the most intimate ways to connect with viewers and readers, and hopes to one day open her own small-scale publishing house!

Nicolas André - Editor..
Nicolas André is a writer, editor and student. Originally from the Laurentides region of Quebec, he has recently moved to Montreal. There, he occasionally visited his grandmother, who often used her Macaroni au Gratin as a Trojan horse for her stories of Haiti during the Duvalier-era. He has recently disappointed her by becoming vegan. He hopes one day to make her the mixed-race heroine of a refugee story in which he will have a minor yet still significant role. He is currently in his fourth year of studying Creative Writing and English Literature at Concordia University. You can watch him procrastinate here:

Yi-Wen (Jennie) Lin - Editor..
Jennie Lin is a twenty-something Political Science student at Concordia University who always had a penchant for the written word. She enjoys catching up on Netflix, early morning runs, hiking with friends, and reading—especially steamy romance novels (Bridgerton, anyone?).
Originally from Taiwan, Jennie moved to Canada when she was seven years old, and has been here ever since. She dreams of becoming a print journalist or political columnist and travelling the world.

Lily Sullivan - Editor..
Lily Sullivan is a runaway from the U.S., as well as a fourth year Creative Writing student minoring in Interdisciplinary Studies of Gender and Sexuality. They also are known to enjoy long walks on the beach to look at shells, plus the occasional stop-motion animated movie...

Elizabeth Hanisch - Marketing Coordinator..
Liz is a fourth year student at Concordia majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in English literature. She loves consuming and creating all kinds of creative media, ranging from fiction and poetry to video and illustration. Liz also enjoys using social media to share her passions and is working in social media marketing. Joining scribbles is a way for her to combine her creative interests with social media and connect with like minded creatives along the way.
You can find her sipping coffee in aesthetically pleasing cafés, easily spottable due to her all pastel wardrobe. She’ll be pretending to study but most likely is actually procrastinating by doodling or getting caught up in discussing her opinions on whatever show she last binged.

Rebecca Mersiadis - Graphic Designer..
Rebecca is a 4th year Communications student. She loves getting lost in a book and you'll often find her behind a film camera or editing videos on her computer. This is her first year as a graphic designer at Scribbles and she is so excited to get started and to finally socialize with like minded people after a long 2 years locked inside !

Huyen Tran Pham - Graphic Designer..
Tran is currently a third-year student in Concordia’s Computation Arts program. Even though the program is challenging, she makes time for movies and series. For her, any great piece of art can make an impact on the audience, linger into the back of their minds and inspire other artists.
She loves how this magazine is dedicated to the students’ artworks. The cover design itself is simple, and yet aesthetic at the same time.

Favorite book: At the moment she is overwhelmed with her classes’ material, but she can recommend a Taiwanese series called “Someday Or One Day”..

Emma Mcsharry - VP of Graphic Design

Emma is in her third year at Concordia and is currently studying film animation with a minor in sociology. She loves when art is used as a means for self-expression. Joining Scribbles was an opportunity for her to see this in other students and additionally connect with other creatives at Concordia. You’ll find her with a coffee in hand 9 times out of 10, probably on her way to the nearest spin class.

Victoria de Quadros - Director of Events..
Victoria is in her third year pursuing a double major in art history and psychology. Being much more passionate about the former, she enjoys reading about art and spending hours on end in a museum. An avid collector of postcards, an impulsive buyer of books, and a recent beginner in film photography, Victoria decided to join Scribbles because she wants to contribute to creating a safe space for creative expression, no matter what background someone has. Having organised and volunteered for events in the past, she is looking forward to organising events were like-minded people can meet and have opportunities to enrich their creative selves.

Victoria cannot as of yet pinpoint her favourite book, but she has a strong feeling that her current read, “Just Kids” by Patti Smith might be a strong contender for that place...

Caroline Yin - VP Events..
Caroline is a third-year student at JMSB majoring in Human Resources Management. She joined Scribbles to reconnect with her old passion for writing. She wrote mainly on Wattpad during high school and stopped because she had a writer’s block… for many years. In her free time, she often (binge) watches Asian dramas and anime, sometimes at 2X speed if she’s in a hurry but can’t stop watching because it’s so good.

Favourite Book: Sadly, it’s been too long since she read any book apart from her textbooks!..

Ralph Raven Udasco - Director of Business Relations..
Raven is currently studying Business Technology Management at Concordia University. With much excitement and enthusiasm to join the Scribbles family for its third year, he looks forward to being part of the fun activities and events Scribbles has in store. Being in his last year at Concordia, he wanted to be more involved with the university’s student life and create more meaningful connections.

A little anecdote: growing up, he has always been a fan of Pokémon bringing out the creative and nerdy side of him. A very outgoing and open-minded person he is, it will never be a dull moment with him. He’s also a great bubble-tea-buddy!

Dayiny is a third year JMSB student majoring in marketing.

Kevin Nguyen - VP Finance..
He is in his third year at Concordia, in the Finance program at the John Molson School of Business.
He joined Scribbles to grow his creative side and to gain experience working in a team His hobbies include binge watching anime and anything half decent on Netflix, attempting to try out all the restaurants downtown. He spends most of his money on any tasty looking bottles at the SAQ. His current favorite any type of flavoured soju and rum.

Ashley Asuncion - Vice President ..
In her final year at Concordia, Ashley is majoring in Art Education with a minor in Psychology. She joined Scribbles magazine not only to get more involved in the university community, but most importantly to support creative ways of expression, no matter the program or background. Other than thinking about potatoes, aliens, travelling, and all the books she has read and yet to read, she enjoys collecting notebooks and writing colour-coded to-do lists that may or may not be completed.

Tanzim Haque - President..
Tanzim is currently in her final year studying Business Technology Management at JMSB. She's honored and super excited to be part of the team once again. She has always loved art and enjoys pushing her creative boundaries🎨. Fun fact, she never gets tired of rewatching Ghibli Studio movies💫 She loves sushi🍣, bubble tea and korean food🥘 (she would have it all day, everyday, but would go broke if that happened).
She also hopes to one day launch her very own animated show/movie!

Every journey has a beginning. Presenting the Founder of Scribbles, Sara Shafiei. 💕 Sara graduated in Marketing from JMSB in April 2020. During her last year, she founded Scribbles in hopes of allowing any student to publish their work and to connect students with the same passion. Although she has graduated, she continues to provide support to the Scribbles team. ..
She has dreams of publishing books one day. ✍️ Besides her interest in books, Sara is a bit of a Disney, Taylor Swift and pink loving nerd. You’ll often find her watching Netflix and procrastinating. ⠀⠀..
