on the ALERT!🎉🎉! It's week - what better day to celebrate LOVING OURSELVES as women and mamas!

In this episode, there's NO. HOLDING. BACK.
😚

Jannine Mackinnon from Unapologetic Motherhood, a community builder and advocate for all women, specializes in and female sexuality. She offers a safe space to challenge the social norms that we, as women and mothers, have been conditioned to accept as our reality.

But it doesn't have to be.

Women's empowerment STARTS AT HOME with the decision ultimately being... our own.

We're talking about , a unique take on , - did you know we have superpowers that come alive at different points in our cycle? 🤯, transactional , and... , (get a good dose of my severe awkwardness and me OF COURSE breaking into song, on our Youtube version).

Watch how your fave "PRUDE" (yours truly) is literally transformed in one sitting, as we "go there" in the world of self love, and tapping into our own needs.

Happy Valentine's Day week, indeed...

This , we’re going , , where masks, distance, anxiety, and grief are a thing of the past.

As the great once said, “Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one.”

And that’s why we want a future where we can hug with no reservations, hand out candies on the old fashioned way, and gather and interact with our neighbors without fear, scrutiny, or judgement. Here’s to that happening soon!

Finding out what fit best for our family’s lifestyle, learning styles, and personalities was KEY to deciding if we were going to go back to homeschool or get back to in-person learning this year. One of my kiddos thrives on focused one-on-one learning at her own pace (I mean THRIVES....), the other one aches to learn at a fast and stimulating pace with the uninhibited interaction of peers his size.

It’s humbling to know that I can’t do it all, and that we really just have to roll with the punches when it comes to the little people in our lives.

Check out our in the link below on what we ultimately decided to do for our kiddos this year, and how we all feel about it.

What did you ultimately decide to do with the kiddos in your lives as far as education? What are your views on homeschooling? If you do homeschool, did the Pandemic play any role in your decision?

It's back to homeschool and the start of Preschool (for our 3yr old). In this post, we share how we came to this decision for the 2nd year.

Do you ever spend hours mindlessly scrolling through your IG and feel overcome by envy – to the point where you spiral and end up hosting your own pity party?

Yeah… me too.

The voices in your head start telling you that you are not enough - good enough, smart enough, wealthy enough, fit enough, worthy enough.

How about if I told you, there’s a way to see and in a different light? Like turning those sour lemons that leave a bad taste in your mouth into a tall glass of freshly squeezed lemonade?

Join me on our newest (link in my bio), as I share my secret recipe that has helped me take moments of comparison and envy and “make something” out of it. For me.

What do you do when you go down that that leads to comparison and envy?

How moms (and everyone) can see comparison and envy in a different light - similar to turning sour lemons into a delicious glass of lemonade.

Hey , , Working Mamas, Single Mamas, Homeschool Mamas, Newborn Mamas, Toddler Mamas, Teenage Mamas... and... I see you too, dads - any one out there feeling especially exhausted these days???!!

Between the chaos of daily life, deadlines, social dramatics (or lack thereof), pressures of keeping everyone fed, healthy, and engaged - it’s pretty easy to become fully immersed in the overwhelm of family life, inadvertently placing your own needs on the backburner. But I have recently discovered that there is unlimited room at the top rung of the priority pyramid of family life, and it’s essential for us caregivers to give ourselves the permission to nurture our own plans and interests, and unleash some of that creativity that’s been suppressed far too long.

Becoming more intentional with tapping into my creative self again, or picking up a book that doesn’t have anything to do with green eggs and ham, catching up with my girls, going for that long walk... sometimes alone, finally finishing up that cup of coffee while it’s still hot... and doing all the things that fill my own bucket - it hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth making space for it. It’s helped me become a more present and light hearted mom, and a better version of me.

Who else is itching to get their sass back?
Double tap some love if you’re ready to tap into your inner sass again... .

We are fast approaching the end of Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and as a member of the community it's time for me to share MY story.

In this week’s podcast over at Sass & Small Talk, I will be introducing to you, a dear friend of mine, who gave me a glimpse of what it feels like to be seen and to be heard, when my daughter and I were treated with utter disrespect from a stranger. It was reminiscent of the countless times I was left to feel less than, humiliated, and discriminated against as a child – simply because of my size and the colour of my skin.

Having a friend in my corner during moments like this makes all the difference.

In a world FILLED with Karens,

Have you ever been at the receiving end of a disrespectful encounter and have you or anyone in your life stepped in to help?

"In A world filled with Karens, be a Trisha". This episode's about a friend who stood up for my daughter when she was treated disrespectfully, from a stranger.

R E S E T :: I would be lying if I said that we got through this past year and a half... okay. If I was ever confident in saying I have never truly experienced anxiety, I can absolutely say without a shadow of a doubt, I have now... And I know I’m not alone in this. 2020 rattled me, and 2021 is proving to be just as challenging. But I’ve since, found ways to prioritize my , while doing the same for my family.

The one thing that has been a resounding theme in our family’s life since the beginning of the pandemic, is the need to spend more time . It’s not as easy as it sounds, however. With full time , while chasing around a toddler, and managing a business, I’ve had to find creative ways to get the family and myself out the door. I’ve had to be intentional with making room in my life for connection with the natural world outside the confines of my home.

If we simply can’t get our act together to get out during the day, we make it a point to watch the sun set after dinner at a nearby beach. There is something special about watching the day transition into the night, especially with the ocean as its backdrop. It gives me a chance to reflect on the day, from a different lens. I’m not surrounded by dishes, piles of “to dos”, and the triggering sounds of devices, reminding me that I’m failing my kids by giving in to the digital life. Just the fresh ocean air, the sound of the tide coming in, my kids laughing and chasing each other, and nothing that resembles the stress and worries that we’re faced with daily - at home, work, and on the news.

Where do YOU find your nature therapy? It’s , and I challenge you (you don’t have to be Canadian 🇨🇦), to post a photo that supports your system as you hit that reset button while finding that moment of peace in your day. Tag .nature.counselling
