The Sexton family design and build legacy started in the city of Redondo Beach when the roads were dusty and unpaved and back yards were filled with corn fields and farm animals. built this first home where his son, Glen Sexton and eventual founder of Sexton Homes, Inc., was born in 1937. Glen obtained his contractor’s license in
1964 and over the past 50 years has built thousands of homes, apartments, and commercial properties throughout the United States alongside large development companies. In 1995, Glen founded Sexton Homes, Inc. Glen’s son, Shaun Sexton, came on board 2 years later at the young age of seventeen. Amidst attending Mira Costa High School, Shaun designed the second Sexton Home, located on 31st Street in Manhattan Beach. Glen later passed the presidency on to Shaun in 2008 to enjoy his retirement life. This was a milestone for the Sexton name as it officially brought the building legacy into its third generation. As president, Shaun quickly gained notoriety in newspapers and magazines for his home design and unyielding quality of work. He has been recognized as a prominent designer within the South Bay, known for creating luxurious designs that inspire. Shaun has traveled all over the globe to gain inspiration and knowledge to enable him to create homes that are innovative works of art while still being functional. Shaun has been designing and building in Manhattan Beach for over 15 years and his work continues. He hopes his son and/or daughter will follow the Sexton family footsteps and continue creating homes for families to enjoy and create lasting memories in.
