Indonesia launches Jakarta-Bandung 'Whoosh' high-speed railway

The 142-kilometre (88.23-mile) railway, one of President Jokowi's flagship infrastructure projects and part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, has faced problems ranging from land procurement issues, pandemic-related delays and ballooning costs.

Arrived at overcrowded Tan Son Nhat (SGN) and our aircraft was parked at the far end of the airport. There is a new airport planned for Ho Chi Minh City, which is years away from being a reality. In the meantime, SGN is building Terminal 3. The passenger bus drove by the entire length of the Terminal 3 worksite, which is underway after facing its own delays.
