Bad owners, NOT bad breeds. 🫵🏼 PLEASE READ! 🔍 It’s true when they say what you put in is what you get. It isn’t easy. Although we have put in so much money, effort and time into training Doug we still live everyday in fear. We do our best to try and change people’s perception on the breed until a new article comes out about another attack due to these careless owners. These dogs are powerful. Why is it so easy to breed in the UK, why is there not more in place when it comes to just buying a dog, how can these backyard breeders get away with it but somehow the dog still gets the blame? So many questions. Although Doug isn’t a reactive dog, he is on the lead 95% of the time when we walk him, because we know how people look at him but we also want to be consistent with his training. We owe it to him. Doug is our world and we will do everything we can to protect him and all the other innocent XL bullies out there. We should now be looking into the people who are breeding these dogs for nothing more than money or owning them for status. Muzzle Conditioning 🤎 We are now on day 3 of muzzle training and Doug has taken to it like a walk in the park obviously 😅 I am now using the commands ‘touch’ and ‘wait’ which allows him to leave his nose in the muzzle for a good 3-7 seconds - always rewarding, even if he just touches it. *This muzzle is too small for Doug it is just being used a temp muzzle for the meantime. We have found a permanent muzzle which has now been purchased, which I will show you all once it arrives! 🥺* Everyday he is making progress, however I am still processing that we have to do this. It’s still so hard to accept. But we are getting there. Thank you so much to everyone for your kind messages and support everyday. We will continue to share as much as can and we are still continuing to fight for what’s right.
