If you’re using hashtags to increase your reach, you’re using them wrong. 🙅‍♀️

If there’s one thing about social media that is a constant - it’s that it’s ALWAYS changing.

That means we’re always learning about what’s going on and how it affects our clients’ performance on social media. This morning while scrolling here on IG, a post by came up on the feed about hashtags and it was 🔥🔥🔥 Here’s what it was saying:

If you’re using hashtags to increase your reach, you’re using them wrong ➡️ Hashtags no longer act as a way to increase your reach here on IG - their purpose is to act more as a search engine. So with this knowledge, here’s what you can do to use them effectively:

#️⃣ Choose SEO optimized hashtags: Brainstorm what your ideal customers or followers would be searching for and create a list using those keywords. 

#️⃣ Limit overuse, stick to 5ish specific hashtags that are super focused on your post topic and business.
