Submissions are OPEN for APIARY 12: The Genre Jawn! This has been a year of unexpected flux, adaptation, and reinvention - an entire new form of life. So, for this issue, we're seeking hybrid or cross-genre writing that tests, breaks, and experiments with form! Your work can be also interdisciplinary, collaborative, or multimedia. We're also excited to share that our poetry and prose editors will be reading collaboratively across their respective genres to select submissions for this issue. Got writing that bends or reinvents the rules? We want it! Deadline: 5/1! https://bit.ly/3wsMUzZ

It has been an insane year for all of us at APIARY. Printing timelines have changed. Themes have transformed. Budgets have been rewritten. Our staff has taken on new roles, learned to collaborate in new ways, and have adapted how they function as artists and educators in a pandemic. Through it all, somehow, we kept chugging along. Tonight we received an email from the endlessly amazing, supportive, and generous folks at Philadelphia Cultural Fund stating that we will be receiving funding for another year. Another year of funding to print our magazine; another year of poetry, prose, and art. This support allows our now ten year old publication to live on and serve the community. Despite how challenging this year has been, we are uplifted by this gift. Thank you Camille Halsey, Barbara Silzle, PHLCouncil, Mayor Jim Kenney, and others for allowing us to get to work!
