🌟🔥 Wow, just finished watching Ivar's speech in Season 6B of Vikings and I am absolutely floored! The way he spoke, with such passion and intensity, it's clear why he was seen as a remarkable leader among the Vikings. This wasn't just any speech; this was a powerful call to arms, a reminder of their heritage, and a rally to reclaim what was theirs. 🛡️✨
Ivar reminded his people of their roots, invoking the memory of great heroes and challenging the complacency that had settled in. It takes an extraordinary leader to wake a sleeping giant, and that's exactly what he did. He didn't just speak; he inspired, he motivated, and he ignited a flame that had been dimmed by comfortable living. 🔥🚀
His words were a wake-up call, urging the Vikings to remember they are the sons and daughters of gods, destined for Valhalla, not meant for mediocre lives. It highlights his vision, not just for conquest but for a return to greatness. 🌊👑
And his call to avenge his father's death while highlighting the spread of the Christian plague shows a tactical awareness of the broader context they were facing. It was a clever move to rally his warriors not just for personal vendettas but for a larger cause - to fight against the encroaching changes threatening their way of life. ⚔️🛡️
Ivar's ability to bring together the spiritual, cultural, and military aspects of Viking life in one speech demonstrates why he was such an effective leader. It's one thing to lead men into battle, but to lead them with a purpose, with a reminder of their identity and legacy, that's the mark of true leadership. 🌌👏
This speech showcases Ivar's leadership prowess, charisma, and strategic thinking. Clearly, he was not just a warrior but a visionary leader for the Vikings. If leadership could be defined by a single speech, then this was it! 🌠 #Vikings #IvarTheBoneless #leadershipgoals

Thor (from Old Norse: Þórr) is a prominent god in Germanic paganism. In Norse mythology, he is a hammer-wielding god associated with lightning, thunder, storms, sacred groves and trees, strength, the protection of humankind, hallowing, and fertility. Besides Old Norse Þórr, the deity occurs in Old English as Þunor, in Old Frisian as Thuner, in Old Saxon as Thunar, and in Old High German as Donar, all ultimately stemming from the Proto-Germanic theonym *Þun(a)raz, meaning 'Thunder'.
Thor is a prominently mentioned god throughout the recorded history of the Germanic peoples, from the Roman occupation of regions of Germania, to the Germanic expansions of the Migration Period, to his high popularity during the Viking Age, when, in the face of the process of the Christianization of Scandinavia, emblems of his hammer, Mjolnir, were worn and Norse pagan personal names containing the name of the god bear witness to his popularity.
Due to the nature of the Germanic corpus, narratives featuring Thor are only attested in Old Norse, where Thor appears throughout Norse mythology. Norse mythology, largely recorded in Iceland from traditional material stemming from Scandinavia, provides numerous tales featuring the god. In these sources, Thor bears at least fifteen names, and is the husband of the golden-haired goddess Sif and the lover of the jotunn Jarnsaxa. With Sif, Thor fathered the goddess (and possible valkyrie) Thrudr; with Jarnsaxa, he fathered Magni; with a mother whose name is not recorded, he fathered Modi, and he is the stepfather of the god Ullr. Thor is the son of Odin and Jord, by way of his father Odin, he has numerous brothers, including Baldr. Thor has two servants, Thjalfi and Roskva, rides in a cart or chariot pulled by two goats, Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjostr (that he eats and resurrects), and is ascribed three dwellings (Bilskirnir, Thrudheimr, and Thrudvangr). Thor wields the hammer Mjolnir, wears the belt Megingjord and the iron gloves Jarngreipr, an
Huginn and Muninn are a pair of ravens that served Odin the Allfather as his messengers. In several artworks, the two ravens were depicted right next to Odin or sitting on his shoulders.
Huginn and Muninn flew around the world during the day and returned to Odin in the evening to tell him all they saw.
It was believed that, thanks to the abilities given to them by Odin, Huginn and Muninn were keen observers and could travel all of Midgard (the world) in a day, speak and understand the language of humans.
That is also the reason why some experts suggest that Huginn and Muninn might actually be projections of Odin’s consciousness.
The fact that the words ‘Huginn’ and ‘Muninn’ literally mean ‘thought’ and ‘mind’, respectively, strengthens this theory.
In that sense, Huginn and Muninn are considered as symbols of Odin and his powers.
Gullinbursti (Old Norse: [ˈɡulːenˌburste], meaning "Gold Mane" or "Golden Bristles") is a boar in Norse mythology.
When Loki had Sif's hair, Freyr's ship Skidbladnir, and Odin's spear Gungnir fashioned by the Sons of Ivaldi, he bet his own head with Brokkr that his brother Eitri (Sindri) would not have been able to make items to match the quality of those mentioned above.
So to make gifts to Freyr, Eitri threw a pig's skin into a furnace as Brokkr worked on the bellows, and together they manufactured the boar Gullinbursti which had bristles in its mane that glowed in the dark.
The story of Gullinbursti's creation is related in the Skáldskaparmál section of Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda:
Arthur Gilchrist Brodeur translation:
Sindri laid a pigskin in the hearth and bade Brokkr blow, and did not cease work until he took out of the hearth that which he had laid therein. But when he went out of the smithy, while the other dwarf was blowing, straightway a fly settled upon his hand and stung: yet he blew on as before, until the smith took the work out of the hearth; and it was a boar, with mane and bristles of gold. ... Then Brokkr brought forward his gifts: ... to Freyr he gave the boar, saying that it could run through air and water better than any horse, and it could never become so dark with night or gloom of the Murky Regions that there should not be sufficient light where he went, such was the glow from its mane and bristles.
According to Húsdrápa, Freyr rode Gullinbursti to Baldr's funeral, while in Gylfaginning, Snorri states that Freyr rode to the funeral in a chariot pulled by the boar.
The boar is also known as Slíðrugtanni (Old Norse: meaning "Sharp Tooth" or "Fearsome Tooth") (sometimes anglicized to "Slidrugtanni").
