Have you ever found yourself thinking, “damn, the Paris Review just doesn’t understand my art”? Do you find yourself needing to share something with the world, but lacking a venue both grand and underground enough to handle your work? Sometimes, do you wish that there were some other kids who have your same aversion to letters of rejection and adorable jankiness? Welp, we have just the opportunity

for you! We’re proud to announce that we are accepting submissions for the first issue of Fellowship of the Bar Syrup, Hyde Park’s number one source of… well, we’ll paraphrase our old friend in order to get the point across:

“This is the original [Fellowship of the Bar Syrup]. Nature’s choicest products provide its prized flavor. Only the finest of [words] and [images] are used. Selected as America’s Best in [2015].”

Hopefully that gets the point across. We want to make you laugh and cry and drink and sober up and have all sorts of interesting brain thoughts. Also, we all hate getting rejection letters from so-called “important” literary journals. Like they know anything.
