King Charles III diagnosed with cancer, Buckingham Palace says

The type of cancer has not been revealed - it is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The King began "regular treatments" on Monday and will postpone public duties during the treatment, the Palace said.
The King, 75, "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible," it added.
No further details are being shared on the stage of cancer or a prognosis.
Charles informed both his sons personally about his diagnosis and the Prince of Wales was said to be in regular contact with his father.
The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, who lives in the United States, spoke to his father and will be travelling to the UK to see him in the coming days.
The King returned to London from Sandringham in Norfolk on Monday morning and the palace says he has started treatment as an outpatient.
Although he will pause his public events, the King will continue with his constitutional role as head of state, including paperwork and private meetings.
There is a constitutional mechanism for when the head of state is unable to carry out official duties - in that circumstance "counsellors of state" can be appointed to stand in for the monarch.

My music career was ruined by ‘dubious team’ - Terry G

Rapper Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G, has linked the decline of his music career to his 'deceitful team,' alleging that they undermined his endeavours.

In an Instagram post shared via his account on Sunday, January 28, Terry G accused his former management of confirming bookings without his knowledge and failing to reimburse for shows he didn't attend.

He extended apologies to affected show promoters and Disc Jockeys, commonly referred to as DJs.

The ‘Akpako Master’ crooner wrote: “To all show promoters. I worked with a dubious team (managers) which created a false narrative about me. They accepted bookings without me being aware & even refused to refund shows I didn’t attend and put the blame on me without my knowledge.

“I am only but human and I use this platform to apologize for all that. I’m happy to clear this out as it has been reasons why y’all haven’t been hearing or seeing Terry G. Thank you.”

Declaring his freedom from the ban imposed on him in the past by DJs, Terry G wrote: “To all deejays. I have been cleared from the ban I had years ago. I have settled, I’m putting this out for the great ones who haven’t heard the information since 2020 to know that I’m no longer banned by the DJ association.”

12 suspects in Maj Mahama murder case sentenced to life imprisonment

They were found guilty on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and abetment of murder. The accused include the then-Assembly Member of Denkyira-Obuasi, who was alleged to have incited the community to attack Major Mahama.
Two of the accused persons were acquitted and discharged after the jury found them not guilty of the charges against them. The jury has been discharged, and the convicted individuals are now awaiting sentencing by Justice Mariama Owusu.
Major Mahama was brutally lynched in Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region on May 29, 2017, while on duty. The tragic incident occurred after he was mistakenly identified as a robber by the community.

Following the lynching, over 50 suspects were initially apprehended, and after screening, 14 individuals were selected for prosecution. Among them were William Baah, the then-Assemblyman for Denkyira Obuasi, Bernard Asamoah (alias Daddy), Kofi Nyame (aka Abortion), Akwasi Boah, Kwame Tuffour, Joseph Appiah Kubi, Michael Anim, and Bismarck Donkor. The remaining accused persons were John Bosie, Akwasi Baah, Charles Kwaning, Emmanuel Badu, Bismarck Abanga, and Kwadwo Anima.

The trial faced a pivotal moment in July 2022 when the High Court overruled a submission of no case made by the defence lawyers for the accused persons. The defence argued that the prosecution had failed to present a compelling case against their clients and that they should be acquitted. However, Justice Mariama Owusu, a Supreme Court Justice sitting as an additional High Court Judge, rejected this argument, stating that the charges had been sufficiently demonstrated by the prosecution and needed to be defended.
With the jury's verdict now in, the legal proceedings move to the next phase as the convicted individuals await sentencing. The case has been a focal point, shedding light on the tragic events surrounding Major Mahama's death and seeking justice for the slain military officer.
