YOU ARE NOT A BAD PARENT if you allow your kids to be on their tablet to keep them preoccupied so that you can accomplish other things or so that you can have a break.
I have not seen a toddler be glued to a book long enough for the parents to finish their tasks or for the parents to have a long enough break. This is no one's fault. It is however a shift in learning behavior due to the acceleration of use of technology.
I don't think we should blame parents when the community as a whole rely so heavily on technology. You really can't avoid it as it is already integrated in everyday life.
Is there more to life than being on screen, yes! Absolutely! Technology is just that, a tool for us to use, NOT a lifeline. In fact, you'll find that most people in tech prefer to be outside in nature and spend less time on screen.
POINT BEING, if you're feeling guilty for allowing your kids to be on their phones or tablets or computers or some form of screen just so you can have a break or accomplish other things, DON'T BE! And screw all the haters, they don't know your life.
Love your kids, love your family.
Alright. Thank you for coming to my podcast.
