Show of hands, who is watching the Paris Olympics?!

We will be cheering for the incredible athletes on team USA every day! Oh Paris, your beauty is unquestionable. Seeing the Eiffel Tower glisten brings back memories from our time on the Seine. Also, can we talk about Celine Dion’s closing performance?! It was an absolute tear jerker, considering all of the health issues she’s been going through it was phenomenal to see her shine. What a comeback!🥹🙌

Which sport will you be tuning in on? For us, it would be Volleyball, Gymnastics, Swimming, and Break Dancing (which has just been added to the Olympics this year)!

As children, we don’t realize that our parents are simply learning things as they go. It’s not until we grow older that we begin to recognize their sacrifice. Once, “one day, when you have a family of your own” finally comes full circle, it begins to click that our parents made it look so effortless.

To our new parents out there, don’t fret, you’re going to do great. But here’s some advice for the road ahead. When you first start on the journey of parenthood, you’re going to make mistakes - plain and simple. There’s going to be days where you feel like you aren’t giving enough. There’s going to be days that aren’t so glamorous. But, more importantly, you will discover things about yourself you never knew. Like how much joy watching your child learn a new skill can be. And, how those little messes on the counter don’t bother you as much anymore because they are the building blocks to unforgettable memories together. More so, as a parent, you’ll know a love that was once unimaginable.

We know it gets hard some days, but it’s your ability to hang in there that makes you an outstanding parent. So if you haven’t heard it already today, you’re doing an amazing job!

And, special congratulations to the beautiful and gracious Lightsey family on their announcement. We know your journey is going to bring blessings every day. 🙏

When we stop and think about the little moments life brings us, we are kinda blown away. We’ll tell each other “isn’t it crazy how at one point, we were just friends?!” Then we’ll proceed to laugh about the little things we did as friends as we stroll down memory lane. “Remember when you would text me good night”, “remember when you would come over and make breakfast”. Those are the memories closest to our hearts.

To our friends who are about to take that great leap of faith into marriage, like our dear friends Anna and Andrew, we congratulate you; you are set to make the greatest memories you could ever imagine. Always carry those wonderful little memories of your friendship throughout the years and call on them to keep your love blossoming for a lifetime. 🤍

A post vacation conversation:

S: “Babe, have you seen our Instagram?”

V: “OMG, no, why, what happened?!?!”

S: “Nothing, we just haven’t posted in like a month”

V: “(After my heart stops racing) oh, well we’ve been gone for like three weeks!” 😅

So sorry guys but the rest was much needed and so great to indulge in.

Social media really is a full time job. But, we are back home and can’t wait to share some of the beautiful work we’ve captured recently.

This triple digit weather here in Bakersfield is no joke. This weekend is supposed to hit 107 degrees 🥵 So for now we’ll be dreaming about the beach.

The cool thing is we’re only about two hours away from the beach where it’s 40 degrees cooler. The thing that’s gets us is taking the time to drive there. Can anyone else relate? 😅

We are firm believers that the universe will find the people who are meant to be in your life and fit them perfectly into it, as if by design. And, that’s how we came to meet Lexy and Anthony!

You know how, sometimes, you meet people for the first time and it feels like you’ve known them your whole life? You can’t explain it, it just feels like you’ve had a friendship before. That’s how this was. These two kind hearted and hard working lovebirds leapt into our lives and we instantly connected.

It’s been a pleasure getting to watch your relationship blossom leading up to your wedding day. The connection you two share is the epitome of “best friends in love” that we seek to showcase through photography. We are blessed to call you our friends and we are so grateful that a mutual love for the “furry friends we call family” brought us together through .23 .

Enjoy the journey of marriage and every step along the path to forever together. We are so happy to have shared a small part in telling your story. Sending you both lots of love, always!!

It’s the unplanned memories that fit perfectly into the wedding that we love so much. As Elise and Lawrence swayed to the music of their first dance their family and friends enveloped them in light. What an unforgettable memory.

We are back on the road this week covering love and laughter from Sequoia to Disneyland and back down to San Diego. Thanks to each and every one of you who have helped us navigate busy schedules, we are so grateful.

Summer - it’s so close we can almost taste the margaritas. 😎

Your support in the hard times and your laughter in the good times have allowed us to grow stronger as a family. I admire your passion, your creativity and your kindness. In the moments when I think I couldn’t possibly be any luckier, you somehow show me just how great God can be.

What’s better than visiting one of the greatest National Parks in the world? Getting engaged there!

That’s why Grady chose Sequoia National Park as the backdrop for the most jaw dropping proposal ever. And we gotta hand it to him, it was perfect. The surprise proposal required us to pretend to be “tour guides” until the big reveal - which we totally nailed even if we didn’t have official Park Ranger hats. 😂

Walking among nature’s marvelous giants hand in hand these two began their expedition to the ultimate journey of all, marriage!

Happy Monday friends!

Thought we’d share a few recent faves from the engagement session of one of our beloved V&S couples, Anna and Andrew! We started their engagement session at Pasadena City Hall, then worked our way westward, into Griffith Observatory, and finally ended with the most amazing sunset in Malibu! Thank you two for being such amazing troopers with the rain and all. We love your “if it rains, just dance in it” attitude! Your positive outlook will get you two far in life. It’s very much appreciated! 🥰

Also, we wanted to give a thank you our dear friends Sarah and Micah, for helping us throughout the session. You two were such an incredible help! Now, let’s get your baby sister and soon-to-be brother-in-law married 🥹🤍

Your wedding gown is one of the most significant garments you can ever wear. It’s kept a secret until the world catches a first glimpse down the aisle. But, that’s not the most captivating thing about this image.

We have this special vantage point throughout your wedding that allows us to observe the precious moments and procure them in a photograph for all time.

This photo, while beautiful and peaceful, takes you inside the day and offers insight to those intangibles that can’t be shared in photo. Like, the anticipation of the soon-to-be -weds. The pride each special guest feels for having been single handedly picked out the celebrate with the happy couple. Or, the smell of the beautiful floral arrangements as the day unfolds.

This gown, signifies the entirety of the wedding and the memories that are created that special day. 🤍

Furry four legged friends are family forever! (try saying that 10x fast)

There is no subtle way to say it, we adore the little companions that are there after a long day. You know the ones, they perform a little dance at the door, give you a million kisses simply because they missed you for during your 5 minute adventure to the car.

Pets are always welcomed at the photoshoot. But for some extra cute photos, bring along some treats and a favorite toy to bring out the “smiles” for endless paw-ssibilities. 🐾

It’s starts with a friendship, rooted in trust and understanding. But, over the years it blossoms into this beautiful, one of a kind type of love only the two of you ever truly understand. And as you grow closer in marriage, you see each other in a new light. You become more vulnerable, more expressive and more compassionate to the differences that make you so good for one another. So, no, marriage isn’t about always being on the same page, and that’s alright.

What you learn from the struggles along the way, strengthen your marriage each and every day. We traveled to Bellevue Washington to celebrate Lawrence & Elise, and it was breathtaking! The Robinswood House was the perfect backdrop to their love, the incredible team of vendors were unforgettably kind and hardworking.
