HE’LL MOVE IN UNEXPECTED WAYS.
This logo is so much more than a commissioned project. When I was approached to design a logo for a Bible Study Center right here in our city, I was hesitant.
During this time, I was battling serious doubts in my creative mind. I wasn’t sure if I can pull it off, if I am still capable to handle projects like this since I was pigeonholed into a work that included repetitive tasks and I felt my creativity drained.
That, along with the idea that my design will be displayed in the public, added to the pressure. Sure, I had my designs plastered along the streets of London and presented in the Middle East, but if anyone had something negative to say about them, I wouldn’t hear it.
But the project is paid and my finances were low, so I took it. I came up with this. And somewhere along the way, I got my design mojo back. I was excited to try doing something like this again.
That’s why I am thankful for this project. I got paid, but I got way more than the price.
Design is much more complicated than combining shapes, colors and lines to build anything.
It’s the combination of inspiration, talent, practice and craft that create something that can embody an idea, all within the confines of print and digital media.
