The first time I decluttered my kitchen I felt like a new woman. Instead of consolidating our cooking supplies and kitchen gadgets when we got married, my husband and I just carried everything we owned during our single life into our marriage. We had twice the amount of pots and pans, gadgets we never used but owned because those things promised to make us better cooks 🙃 and then all the new things we got from our wedding.
What it really boiled down to was a poverty mindset: “we might need those things one day but won’t be able to afford them later if we get rid of them now.”
When I finally said, “enough is enough” I found space and freedom to explore and grow my cooking skills. I only had what I used and needed. It not only freed up cabinet space so I could easily see and access the tools I use every day, but it also freed up mental space to be able to try new things.

This morning I woke up to a rather rude DM. All it said was “follow back.” No “please,” no “thank you.” No offer to engage with my content if I engage with theirs.
I currently follow twice as many people as are following me. I’m a small account and small business. This is my 12th post. I have a life outside of Instagram. I’m only on Instagram because I’m trying to support my family by helping as many people as I can, find more peace in their lives through decluttering. But, as we all know, IG is a hard market. I don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on reaching my ideal client.
So unfollow me if you don’t have time to be polite, or prefer to choose being mean over being kind. I don’t want you following me because I can’t serve you. You are not my ideal client and the knowledge and content I provide will not benefit you. Go find your tribe. I’m working on finding mine.

I can’t be the only one, right? Moving from bottles to sippy cups is a good milestone, but it’s also kinda breaking my heart. Where did my little bitty baby go??!!
I’m still nursing my baby, but she’s ready for sippy cups and other milks (we use Ripple Kids pea milk). I have to admit, I wasn’t ready for the emotions that came up when I cleaned out this drawer and put the bottles, pump parts and milk bags away.

You will never regret choosing your children. Your business can wait. The news can wait. That sale you’re excited about can wait. None of those things can fulfill your soul the way your children can.
I get it. I’m guilty of being on my phone while my kids are begging for my attention, or hiding in the bathroom just so I can have a few minutes of peace to just feel connected with the world outside my house. But at the same time, I never feel content or satisfied after choosing my phone over my kids.
But every time I choose my kids? Even in those frustrating moments when I really don’t want to be telling my son, “no you can’t have a snack right now” for the 30th time in the past 5 minutes, I never regret putting down my phone and choosing them, their needs, their attention.
It’s not noise. It’s music.
The stuff on my phone, however? Yeah, that’s noise. Some of it is useful, but most of it is just mental clutter I’m filling my already overtired brain with.

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some @starbucks (I live in their “homeland”) but I’m also a big fan of small, local coffee shops. Plus, living in the coffee capital of the world, you get some choices. My favorite coffee shop is @anthemcoffee.
