Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Lou began deejaying at the age of 16, when he first experienced the excitement of playing music on vinyl. He later developed his skills as a mobile deejay, spinning at private parties, weddings and other events. After six years, in the late eighties, he left the mobile business in favor of honing his skills and broadening his musical tastes. Various genres including Latin, Disco, Jazz, R&B and House music began to influence Lou’s selections as he developed a unique and eclectic sound. Having admiration for deejays such as Tony Humphries, Louie Vega, Merlin Bobb and Timmy Regisford, Lou always desired to deejay for the dance community.
In 2005, he returned to music as an Internet Radio Deejay and then a Freelance Club Deejay. He has played NJ and NY venues, held a 4 year residency in Newark’s Ironbound and hosted three internet radio shows captivating audiences with his smooth blend of vocals, rhythms and deep beats.
Over the years, Lou's played for organizations such as Humble Beginnings, ThinkSoul, Exact Nature Party, The Usual Suspects, Merge Music, Let'em Entertainment, Sankofa Soul and Breaking The Mold Entertainment.
During this time he has showcased his talents in local NJ venues such as QXT’s, Hell's Kitchen, Club Elevation, Ash Lounge, Luna Lounge and Transmission Night Club. In NY, guest spots at Sapphire Lounge, LP Harmony, Karavas, The Spot, Sutra Lounge and Santos Party House.
